Well the first of my 3 vacation weeks for the year ends at 4pm, when i must return to work. It was great have seven wonderful days without wearing shoes. So nice to run errands, feeling various surfaces and getting wonderfully dirty soles this week.
Nice. I wish I was old enough to not give a hoot about what others think about me, though. I'm pretty brave for most people my age, but I definitely have my inhibitions. =-/ Hey, at least it's not 41 degrees F every morning where you are this time of year. I can't even wear flip-flops to school; it's too cold to walk there in the morning with them on. I can see my breath now, and that is depressing. Oh well, the afternoons are in the 70's.
I know that feeling of losing a little freedom, as soon as the happy barefoot times (such as vacations) end... I felt quite the same when my 3-week vacation in August was over. Isn't this just the best thing about those days, when you don't even have to think about whether it's "right" to be barefoot or not? Those questions don't arise when you're out of office for that certain time - since the dress code rules of your job (in case there are any) aren't part of vacation everyday life. On my free days, I don't think about shoes, but rather do whatever is there to be done in my barefeet (or, when it comes to home- keeping chores in my apartment, fully nude). Well, I have a time period of constant barefooting of nine days ahead of me, as I have a little fall vacation starting on October 11, until Oct. 19. Speaking of cold-ish weather, we have currently early morning temps around 40F (expected tomorrow, as well), and that hasn't stopped me from barefooting as yet. I just put on some warmer sweater or jacket to keep my overall body temperature up. That little tingling feeling of cool air on my toes helps me a lot in waking up in the morning. And even though it is a bummer that I have to work on Saturday tomorrow, I am looking forward to that barefoot moment. Even more so, since there are none of those tie-wearing bigwigs around the office, so that Saturdays are the only days I can work barefoot full-time. Wiggling toes, ~*Ganesha*~
where i am its starting to get cold and i now have to wear shoes at night which sucks because ive only worn shoes 5 times in the past 4 months. -Jak
