Have you ever...

Have you ever heard someone's voice for the first time, and it sounds exactly like you thought it would, and suddenly you feel like you have known them forever?

I heard someone's voice yesterday after only corresponding by e-mail briefly before that. It's so weird because her voice actually matched the voice I imagined she'd have in my head.

Why do you suppose that is?

That also made me wonder what everyone on HERE sounds like...

 

I sound like Kathleen Turner but way more huskier...

Hmmm, I am trying to think if I ever heard someone's voice and it was exactly what I thought it would be like...
I'm going to have to say no.....

I talk like a robot when I talk to people, it throws them off...

Oh and to answer your question on why you suppose that is, maybe your brain just knew....Does that sound like a good answer....

well maybe our brains are so developed, we can actually understand how a certain person sounds even if we havent heard them yet. Maybe our imagination is not imagination every time , but a reflection to the reality that is. But we dont know that yet and thats why we are so stunned when it happens. and maybe , just maybe im talking stupid bullshits

 

I think maybe when you talk to them and hear their voice, you think it is what you thought it would sound like...

Actually my voice sounds like what people would think it would sound like...annoying...

I Do Not think I have ever been able to Guess someone's Voice...Always a Surprise for me when I Hear them speak for the First time...

 

I had that happen to me the other day. I heard a recording that a girl made...it was the first time I'd ever heard her voice, but I have spoken with her online for years. When she started talking I KNEW that was how she was going to sound. If I think about voices though, everyone I know sounds like what they look like they should sound like...if that makes sense.

 

Nope, that's never happened to me.

I have a southern accent with a sickeningly sweet voice.

 

Hmm , never really done that.

I'm more I can picture someone from their voice and written stuff.
I can usually tell how attractive or not girls are ( I think..)
And I picture guys from their voice( sort of..)

 

no one expects me to sound like i do. even after i explain to them what i sound like, they're still surprised.

 

Noone ever sounds like what I imagine.

 

Well considering I've never been in a situation to see if i can, I have no idea.

But i have talked to people before, and then later on not recognised them from the sound of their voice. Really creeps you out, cos twice, i knew whoever it was knew me but I couldnt tell who it actually was till i saw their face. And its not because I dont talk to them. Just not regularly enough.

 

If a dolphin and a donkey mated and had a baby, I would sound like the baby...

It's weird to hear your own voice because when you speak you think you sound different from what you actually do, it's quite disappointing.. I always sound much cooler in my head, then when I hear myself on a tape recorder or my phone messages...It's a complete let down..

 

hmm.. im on the fence. One sounded like i expected them to, the other one's voice was much prettier than I imagined. Ive talked to UA and TNS.. i have no clue what they think of my voice. Im too stoned to remember..

 

I talk through my neck so it has a very distinct sound...I am getting some robot legs soon..so it all should work out nicely.
