Being a recreational drug user, I believe that if there is one and only one thing the anti-drug agencies are right about is that marijuana is indeed a gateway drug. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, that it changes the way you think about psychoactives after prolonged use, and you won't fear trying new things. I am not saying it is a bad thing that it's a gateway drug, nor that you will be doing heroin because of marijuana. All I am saying is that there is no question in my mind that marijuana changes certain ways you think about psychoactives, into a positive, "don't listen to your health teacher" way. Discuss why I am right or wrong.
yah it is most definitely a gateway drug, and that is most definitely not a bad thing. really i dont think ive ever met someone who exclusively smokes weed
prejudice? i didnt do mushrooms because of weed i got trapped just like the same way i started smoking weed i also got trapped i didnt do because i thought it was cool man or human you got to realize that there is more then just one type of human out there your making it sound like everybody does drugs the same way. well i guess they do. but i mean people start doing drugs in different ways then just opening up to one way of travel through them bro no offense it might be my slight drunk talking like this am i paranoid or is this guy sounding like an undercover to what awaits on the other side of some kids opening there mouth to drug dealers im probably just paranoid like some 40 year old man wearing a backwards hat while wearing a suit
I think someone that is likely to smoke weed is also likely to try shrooms, just like how someone that steals a candy bar might be more likely to steal a bike. Not that smoking weed is a bad thing, its a choice to be used, not abused. Correlation does not mean causation Its the same concept as how people that wear punk clothing or 'gangsta' clothing have bad grades. Does wearing cloths make you get bad grades? Smoking weed make you wear shabby cloths? No Its a correlation not A --> B or B --> A Another part of this is how kids might try weed and see that it isn't close to as bad as teachers and DARE programs tell you, then they go out and try harmful shit like ecstasy or blindly try shrooms.
eh? i think it must be your 'slight' drunk talking. what in the world are you on about? I am simply starting a debate over whether marijuana is a gateway drug or not. Read please!
it is. weed was my first drug. (its not a drug) ive done about 5 others since weed.... weed started it all
I believe its a gateway drug. It may not make you desire "the next level of high", but it will put you in conversations with other pot smokers, many of which have access to "that next level" drug, and so, you try it. but in my opinion, If i had never smoked weed, i likely would not want to try LSD, due to my lack of experience with any altered states. (not that weed is very "altered") however, weed was definitely a gateway to my use of LSA (morning glories). In my best experience of a low dose LSA (the other attempts (of another batch) dudded-bad batch i think) was like taking all the positive effects of weed, multipling them by 5, and then giving you a ton of energy as well. hell, i gotta ebay me some more 'glories...
I was prescribed medications at young ages. I drank by the time I was 11 or 12. I smoked a cigarette around the first time I smoked weed but did not smoke cigarettes until 2 years later. I tried LSD a few months ago. No real interest in doing it again. Not interested in coke, crystal, heroin. If you don't count the FDA approved medications and alcohol then High School was my gateway drug.
I think alcohol is definatly more of a gateway drug than weed, but weed definatly led me to some more things.
i disagree. alcohol is legal, and that affects a lot of people (at least that i know) as to what they do and do not do. i find it more realistic that someone who smokes is more likely to want to trip than someone who drinks. however i do think alcohol use usually leads to pot use, which could or could not affect that person in what other drugs they try. maybe that's what you were trying to get at?
Whatever drug you try first is a gateway drug, which for most people is usually alcohol or weed. Still not saying it's a bad thing.
pot was the fourth drug i tried. first ecstasy, then mushrooms, then special k, then marijuana(while in a K hole) i'm an exception
the reason it's a gateway drug is because of the fact that it's so safe, yet illegal. if it were made legal, ecstasy would probably become the new "gateway drug." if cigarettes became illegal, they would be a "gateway drug." when someone smokes marijuana and sees how safe it is, then they realize that everything in health class was bullshit, along with any other bad shit they heard about it. because of this, people begin to think "gee...this is illegal and it's okay...ive been lied to about it all these years...i wonder what other illegal things are okay too.."
um coffee is a legal drug hence caffeine that most cannabis users have experienced before, thus that being the gateway drug.
i think marijuana gets the wrap as a "gateway drug" because it is an easy drug to manage in your life. so your naturally inclined to try drugs but weed won't give you as intense effects as other drugs so it's usually why people try it first. im ok with just smoking pot alot of the times if its good weed and occasionally tripping but thats aside the point. schwag is definately a gateway drug.
