My whole life I have dated males.. until recently. Recently I was with a female off and on for awhile and then I went on a few dates with another female. I still think men are attractive however I am captivated by women. The kissing is really sensual and I can't stop thinking and fantasizing about them. I wonder if this is because I'm new to the scene or because I could truly be a lesbian. The thing is I still find men attractive.. so I'm so confused right now. How do you know if you're bi or gay? How do you ever know?

hi euphoria! your post sounds exactly like my first post! sorry to say i can't really 'help' you since i am also in the same boat. but i personally don't think it matters that much what title you give yourself. if you're attracted to someone, then go for it, whether male or female. that's the conclusion i've come to over time.

    Greetings, euphoria,

Welcome to the Bi Forum. Nice to hear, that you had a pleasant experience when exploring same-sex sensuality (hey, that rhymes nicely with the title to a Björk song...).

I would say that the first impulse is curiosity, sparked by some interest that always has been there, dormant, sleeping or dozing inside you, and just waiting for the right moment to wake up and be lived out.
Since you say, that men are still attractive to you (in a sexual way, too?), I guess that you are still taking swims in both oceans, so to speak. Are you inclined to decide taking those baths in one ocean only...? Your asking, if you could truly be a lesbian does hold a note of a higher or increasing preference towards women.

See above - the key word I notice is still. It truly sounds, as if you were going through an orientation phase leading towards women.

To know, whether you are gay or bi is a question of "how does it feel, when I see a man or woman and think about that person in a way of falling in love, being near him or her, making love with him or her". If you have a distinctly different feeling (as far as intensity is concerned) about men and women, you might be on your way to being gay (or straight, depending). If you feel equally intense about people of both (or any) sexes, you might be bisexual (or omnisexual, if you count transgendered, hermaphrodite and all other genders in...).

It's way too easy to be confused when it comes to matters of love and sexual attraction, for sure. The best thing to do, IMO, is to listen to your heart and belly-feeling and what they tell you about it.

By doing so, I have found for me, that I am a person who can fall in love and have sensual experiences with people of any gender.

Be what you are, love and enjoy it.
