never said i was accepting or anything, you're used to talking libs lol the anti-tolerance angle is not gonna work on me, you want me to be tolerant of your intolerence?, my faith isn't about mind-control, it's biblically based, it's helped me better my life and those around me. and if you've got a problem with Palin politically then feel free, but if you're gonna trash my religion then i'm going to say something about it and what you are saying is a straight up lie. mind control by devious people? are you kidding me? Helping build homes, feeding hungry people? devious? my pastor does marriage counseling... what's devious about that? whats devious about a video showing people praying for support and protection? What church do you go to? how do you know it's not mind warping?
I wasn't talking about the people who follow the religion, Shane, most of who are well-meaning and decent people. I am talking about the people BEHIND these religions. I don't go to any church. I am not a religious person. I am a spiritual person who believes in a creator, but I have to need to wrap myself up in the manmade dogma of religion. And finally, I am not intolerant of you or your religion, unless it's being pushed on me. To have an opinion is not to be intolerant. I respect people's right to practice whatever religion they so choose to practice.
And your proof that pentacostalism, charismatic, or evangical christian churches are created and maintained by devious people? the people BEHIND the churches?
Well then, obviously the devious people are really bad at brain washing if it leads people to... gasp... do decent things for each other!
Honestly, I really don't. A lot of evil is done under the cover of good. For example, when you donate to the Red Cross, do you honestly believe your money is going where they say it is, when it has been proven time and time again that is not the case.
I am sorry but I don't want a person who takes part in ceremonies like this to be in control of my government.
The thing that worries me about belief systems is the possibility of becoming an extremist. When your pastor is telling you to not teach any religions other than Christianity in schools, and asks you to 'fight the enemy for Jesus', you can understand why people would become a little worried. The fear is that some religious nut will lead through dogma rather than through sense. Leading through dogma usually leads to disaster.
I don't know, i never give money to anyone voluntarily, i give blood to the Red cross, why what evil are they up to?
prayer? What if she was eating a wafer and pretending it was the flesh of a 2,000 year old dead guy like the catholics? that's somehow less offensive maybe?
Dogmatic beliefs have the tendency to one day lead to disaster, so the proof has to wait, but I'd feel better knowing that our future could be president doesn't hold extreme beliefs.
I don't know about the US Red Cross but they got stripped of their blood donations in Canada for knowingly supplying tainted blood (with Hep C or HIV) to patients. I wouldn't trust them. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4595039.stm http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/taintedblood/bloodscandal_timeline.html
