i was just wondering the risks of taking all three of these. the other night i had taken a .5 xanax during the day (im prescribed these, i generally take one everyday), a lortab later in the night (not sure which one), and then 25 mg promethazine that night and my body was DEAD, i probably had the best and deepest sleep of my life but i awoke to gasping breathing, i suppose like what happens in sleep apnea and now i'm a little paranoid to mix them all again. any input would be greatly appreciated!

Well I wouldn't really suggest doing it again, but it's not like HORRIBLE.
    The xanax + lortab isn't really a problem but it's the xanax+promethazine.

Promethazine reduces your seizure threshold so combining it with xanax is dangerous in that respect.

Promethazine isn't recreational, so why are you even adding that to the mix?

depends if you're taking that combo for recreational purposes or for medical purposes. if recreational, be careful with that combo, opiates and benzos can be dangerous, epsecially mixing that with antihistamines. if taking it for medical reasons, just talk to your doctor.

Opiates and benzos can be dangerous but in generally higher than normal doses. The .5mg xanax and a lortab should not really be considered reckless especially if it's under physician supervision.

The combination of xanax with the promethazine is much more to worry about.

I still don't understand adding Prometh to the mix, just seems pointless. Prometh is used for nausea...are you trying to stop the nausea from opiates?

It is a sedative. Seems kinda random though I must admit lol
Go from benzo to opiate to a random antihistamine

Unless he was just trying to go to sleep faster. Hmm.

I've heard that Antihistamines have can be used as a potentiator, but I am skeptical about it, as it has never worked for me. Prometh just seems like a really odd thing to add to that mix, considering there are tons of OTC antihistamines.
