How Many People Smoke Dope?

I think the reason that a lot of people aren't getting together and trying to leagalize weed is because they don't know where to start. I mean, what groups/organizations are fighting marijuana prohibition and what do have to do to help out? NORML I guess, but I don't really know many other than that. Hmm this threads gettin off topic really quick.

why? because a forum dedicated to weed has a lot of people who smoke, and each person knows a large number of people, like tons. Each smoker on here knows who in their life smokes and want it to be legal and who wouldnt..even those people they aren't very close to (I am talking like most people youve been in contact with, not only the people hang out with everyday, but know to a slight degree). It's called contemplating the idea on a forum.

 

I don't know, I think it's gettin to be a good time for it to be legalized. In 1933 the US was suffering econimically during the middle of the Great Depression. 1933 was a big year for attempts to boost the economy. The Prohibition ended with the 21st Amendment past that year. Taxes man taxes...I mean honestly alcohol was not what got us out of the Deperssion, but I'm sure it helped collect a good amount of funds. We are in a recession now, and I don't know whats going to happen with our economy. So I understand legalizing marijuana isn't the first thing on the political agenda, but perhaps it will be at least discussed if things get worse. They would make some good money if they legalized and taxed it.

Thats also part of the reason I don't want it legalized...just decriminalized...but I see beenfits to both I suppose

I am not talking about crack or heroin, nor dopamine, in the 60' and 70's marijuana was called dope. Very few Hippies would use anything else, the was not cool. Though some used LSD, well a lot, but the times then were simple, and growing plants in a closet were the norm. So, why waste time mulling over crap when you have no idea what is being talked about. After all, this forum is about marijuana, and I for one do not use any drugs, I can't.

We all understand that 40 years ago people said dope. Try calling someone up now and asking for dope. You will either get bitched at for asking for heroin or you will be hooked up with someone very, very sketchy.

NORML wants reformed marijuana laws but the people you don't hear from are growers. They are so concerned about protecting their identities that they aren't going to publicly talk about their views on marijuana cultivation.

If I grew I would oppose legalization more adamentaly than Bill O'Reilly. Growing can be profitable depending on the risk you are willing to take and I wouldn't want the government controlling that business like a monopoly.
