Is it possible for someone to actually get less smart as time passes?

I think I am. I've always been nit-picky about myself. But it seems to be getting worse lately. Getting things wrong doesn't just bother me anymore. It kills me. Is it to weird I actually have started to prep my voice so it sounds amazing just for me to tell the teacher I am present in class? Every little thing I do wrong these days even if it's as small as pronouncing a word incorrectly or accidently doing a problem wrong in algebra I have to beat myself up for ten minutes. Like today for example. I let a friend of mine copy my homework and it turns out I did a few wrong. Instead of letting it go all I could think about was how I had screwed up and how stupid my friend must think I am. I can't decide if I have gotten dumber or a lot more delusional about the status I can achieve. I feel like such a failure. Always no matter how much I do right. Anything less than perfect is becoming unacceptable in every part of my life not just school.

IQ is not at all static throughout ones lifetime.

i have a damn good ballpark idea of my IQ as a young child. but now? its got to be lower. i'd guess by as much as 20 or 30 points

I don't even know my IQ. No one I can ask knows. You'd think they'd remember.

Um you sound obsessive compulsive or something... maybe something else but im not sure what. you need to learn to let go and loosen up. if you expect perfection you're never gonna get it from yourself or anyone else and will always be disapointed.

You should always try your best Mya. But part of growing up is accepting your own limitations.

We all fuck up all the time.

I know it's hard though. I'm under a lot of pressure. My dad even expects me to make all A's this year. Something I haven't done since second grade. I just don't want to let anyone down. They care about me so much it would be a shame to displease them.

Lode. My soul. How i've missed you. I've counted the hours on my toes. It seems as I grow up I accept them less and less though. I'm hanging around too many emo kids.

Expecting your child to get all A's is setting them up for too much stress. An occasional B is okay if you do your best.

I wish I had the attention span for that. I think it's the fact i've never really no matter how much i've proclaimed I need to taken the time for myself. I'm always there for others you know. Described by some as a motherly type always taking the high road and all other associated phrases. I'm supposed to be there for others. It's hard letting them be there for me.

    Someone once told me:

"Stop trying to bring yourself down. The rest of the world will do that for you."

Life isn't a race to the top. And it's a hard life to live if you can never enjoy your own success.

I enjoy life when it comes to when i'm just talking to others and myself occasionally. I've taken to making recordings on my phone. I love my voice so much I like to hear it back actually. I have no aspirations to go to the top. I can barely picture what tomorrow will be like. I just take life one day at a time. I'm too worried about the present to imagine the future now.

My dad says if I can get all A's he'll take me on a cruise next summer. That's part of why I want it.

    Well that's a start.

But ultimately your the only one you have to impress.

If you're doing your very best and not happy with it, maybe the problem isn't that you're not smart enough or working hard enough.

Maybe your just putting value in the wrong things. I'm not trying to tell you what to value. You've gotta figure that our yourself.

But like I said. Lifes hard if you can't be pleased with what you do.

I try to. Today has just been an awful day. I'm probably tired. I got thirty minutes of sleep last night and I function best on 8-12 hours. I'm probably hungry. I haven't eaten much today. I'm probably just a little lonely. My aunt cancelled some plans I was really looking forward to. Maybe after I rest tonight i'll feel semi-better.
