So who is just flat sick and tired of this election already? I used to look forward to them a little but this year is just bullshit, they speak then back out on what they said then say it again someplace else and so on.
I've been sick of this upcoming election for quite some time. I hear many (older) people saying how they believe that this is the worst election they can ever remember. Honestly, I don't even want to vote this election, but if I don't, how can I complain about what's going on if I don't do my part? *laughs*
This election bothers me no more or less than any other. It's just the same as it always is. It'll come and go, you'll have all the right people and all the wrong people threaten to move to france and then dont. I love how people get so wrinkled up about it. Like there entire hopes and dreams in life are tied to who the president is going to be in 2009.
i say beer should run for president, i have a feeling beer would get many votes from those in both parties. i'm sure our current boy genius would cast his vote for beer as well.
As an "older person" I guess I don't belong with my peers who think this is the "worst election ever." In fact, aside from the fact that the media saturates our every waking moment with The 2008 Presidential Race at every turn, this is like watching a really good football game. America has become so diverse, technology has advanced, we are (hopefully) more informed. Global politics and foreign affairs have come into play since 9/11/01 with the subsequent terrorist attacks on our wallets at the gas pumps, grocery stores, emplyment, or lack thereof more than ever before in history. Folks, this is good stuff. This election could really put the United States Constitution to the test. Our founding fathers had incredible foresight when writing that document and our democracy has held up pretty damn well so far. I hate to preach Kid's...but this ain't no time to lose interest in the most powerful government and nation in the world. Look down the road...think about our GLOBAL situation. We have got to kick ass in the Middle East the best we can since we are already asshole high over there, get out, and DRILL, DRILL, DRILL! Start building those refineries that take 10-15 years to complete and become isolationists again. Knowledge is power folks. This is long and drawn out, but we can't drop the friggin' ball because we are bored. We are in the 4th quarter here. GET INVOLVED!
for being the most powerful government in the world, our politicians sure are quick to absorb foreign lobbyist dollars rather than focus on what goes on here at home. just like you'd hate to side with kid rock on this one. i'd hate to side with the president of iran on this one. the american empire is collapsing, hope you're ready for it when it happens.
Don't know where you were going with that....thanks for boxin' up my post for me though. I don't need a heads up, I know exactly which way we will go according to who get's to sit in The Big Chair come January 2009. I am trying like like hell here to not even reveal who My Man is.....it doesn't matter about lobbyists and their three-martini lunches and the money under the table. Nit-picking at the Washington bureacrats, no matter where they fall between the liberal/conservative continuum is just a cheap and I must say incredibly shallow shot. Think GLOBAL folks! We have to ease our asses out of the Middle East and not leave Iraq just sitting there dead in the water when we leave! If we do, Iran is going to suck it up, they are already there, we are fighting Iran in Iraq. If we lose Iraq to Iran, then we lose Pakistan, then Syria, maybe Jordan. Then there is Kuwait like a sitting duck. It will be gone. And who do you think is left? Our ONLY allies over there are Kuwait, Syria, and Pakistan - and Pakistan ain't lookin' too good right now. That leaves Israel. And what happens when Iran has allied with every Arab country over there? Israel is left, and you know that when anybody touches Israel all hell is going to break lose EVERYWHERE! So as you can see, I have my eyes wide open. Thanks for the heads up anyway.
beer already runs the country... there's no need to give it a symbolic office... as far as i can tell this election is not significantly different from the others i've witnessed. i just happen to be paying less attention to this one, so maybe they're sneaking in a whole new brand of BS behind my back...
