Whats everyone's thoughts about the Bullshit busting duo? I thought the conspiracy episode was very interesting...
Good to have the voice of rationality and scepticism represented in an accessible way. Sometimes I find them a bit annoying but they're very good at what do, and very clever...
some episodes are better than others, and although the "documentaries" are pretty biased, i still enjoy watching it.
yeah they seem much more interested in having a show than in being truly investigative. their premises are often incomplete and narrow and they arrive at conclusions quicker than a mormon grandmother. some are fine; the one on the drug war and sensitivity training were good, but any idiot can see through those
I'm definitely entertained by P&T, no question lol. Bill Maher is a lot more believable. Maybe it's just preference, but his show seems a lot more elevated and incisive. Even when I'm in no mood for politics, Bill Maher is the man. I'm comparing the two since they are on premium channels and they're both on late. But showtime in general has a lot of good and truthful documentaries, shows about socio-political stuff. nice to not worry about sponsors
I agree that they are biased but I don't think they ever try to play it off like there not, In my opinion there show is geared toward people who share there views and is purposely overly biased for entertainment value. You gotta love two magicians who expose people for the shits they really are. Well that is unless you ARE one of those shits I suppose.
I agree with just about every point of view P&T have except one episode pissed me off and I absolutely disagree with. It was about second hand cigarette smoke. They really showed their ignorance on that one. Someones right to smoke should NEVER get in the way of another persons right to breath clean air. My grandfather DIED of lung disease because he had to work in a smokers environment. I pretty much hate their fucking guts for that episode!
To their credit they retracted that and admitted their mistake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrub3dt7R5U
I'm glad they admitted their mistake and I still watch the show when I have a chance. It's just a shame they tainted themselves with such poor judgment in that one show. WTF were they thinking, but anyway...
