i was playing videogames online with my friends with my front door open (i like to occasionally look outside at the sunset and my windows are a shitty view) and it was getting sort of cold....and i was also getting a headache....but i thought nothing of it untill the headache got a bit worse and thats when i told my friends that i would only play one last game with them....by this time i was shivering mildly (i thought it was the cold) so i got up and closed my door....we start playing agin and pretty soon im shaking even worse despite the absence of the breeze....the game finishes and my headache is much worse....i was shaking uncontrollably and i took two asprin for my headache and went to bed

by the time i got under the covers i was shaking so bad that i couldnt get to sleep....and i obviously had a fever from all the friction....after about (i dont remember) 10, 20 or 30 minites lying in bed i either passed out or fell asleep and when i woke up (about two to four hours later) i was really exhausted

from the time i had the headache to the time i fell asleep was about the span of an hour and the only reason i thought of epilepsy is because my dad has it....he has also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schitzophrenia (i dont know if hes schitzophrenic any more) but its been said that he has a chemical embalance

i dont know what to think.....do you think im jumping to violent conclusions? could it be hereditary?

im still exhausted but im about to play more videogames.....thanks for reading, i do apreciate it

Reasonable to be concerned with a family history of epilepsy.

But what you are describing wasn't. Can't explain what caused your intense shivering, but that's not what would have happened had you been having a seizure. In addition, it's very specific frequencies of flashing lights that have the potential to trigger seizures in susceptible people; video games in general won't. I might cut back on the video games, though, if you keep getting headaches from playing.

I agree. You should discuss this with your family.

And not just about epilepsy. Schizophrenia is also passed down in families.

What you're describing could be a seizure. There are many different types of seizures...Abscence, Atypical Abscence, Myoclonic, Atonic, Tonic, Clonic, Simple Partial, Complex Partial, Secondary Generalized...

Some of the symptoms you've described do fit descriptions within some of these seizures. However, in order to really find out for sure if you're experiencing true seizures, you NEED TO GET A MEDICAL EVALUATION!

With my seizures, they were obvious, I had the classic grand mal symptoms. However, there are so many forms of seizures with many different symptoms. My youngest son was diagnosed with Sleep Myoclonis as an infant, which basically meant that he had "sleep seizures". He went through CT scans, EEGs (24 hour in-hospital video survailliance) and we were able to catch him on film having these episodes. He has since outgrown these, as the pediatric neurologist had pretty much figured on. Supposedly my son's issue was due to an immature nervous system (he was a preemie twin).

    Anyway.

You may or may not be having seizures, it could even be anxiety related, but the only way you'll know for certain is to have an evaluation.

    Take care!
