Teenagers ages 14-16 seem so dumb today. It's all about who's "failing" which seems to be cool. At school I thought no one answers questions cause the dont think its cool...turns out people try but are just so fucking stupid. I happen to be really naturally smart I mean I havnt studied for a test in years and never gotten below a B+ in my life. What's with the Jew jokes and the Asian jokes? I thought only stupid fucking kids in my generation think its funny, but nooooooo...why do all Asian comics go on stage and start their shows with..."Yeah...uh...so I'm Asian...and people always say I'm really smart...my parents (they mock their parents, audience hysterically laughs). If a kid chases a penny, "ur such a Jew!" Why against the Jewish people? I'm not at all religious and dont associate myself w/ any religion, but is that really funny? Most Jewish people might chase small amounts of money...so what? Most Asians are trained to study hard and be braniacs...so what? What happened to good humor...Carlin, Dangerfield? Now we have Dane Cook who has a tiny bit of funny material, has terrible stage presence, and overuses certain actions to the point where I want to "punch him in the face" as he always says. Pop music today, for the most part, sucks motherfucking balls. Mainstream: Grindcore, screamo, new metal: Why? That's talent? Metallica are great, Black Sabbath had talent, Dream Theater kicks ass...now we have shit. SHIT. Nothing is innovative or just good to listen to. It's all the same, meaningless bullshit. Emo: Saves the Day, Brand New...those are talented guys who are LABELLED as emo. They were playing before emo existed. Now we have losers with guitars playing monotonous riffs and singers singing about nothing. Where the fuck are today's Hendrixs, Whos, CSNYs? Those are geniuses. Now its all gone back to no signature sound...no true meaning. The last band that reached out to me was Blink182. That's music. They have their fun songs, the fuckaround crowd pleasers, but then they have meaningful songs that clearly took time to write. They inspired me. Now there are few musicians who can actually write songs in the mainstream world. I might be in the wrong generation. I dono.
Theres some great stuff out just depends whats your interest I mean I love Miley Cyrus her music kicks butt to me sure people go its commericial pop for tweenys same was said about The Monkees in the 60s. Man the supermarket I work in the things I learn from people in that age group theres some great people and sure they may be into the whole gossip, who likes who and whats new and latest but hey thats there bag. there are a lot of open minded people out there I can share what I like with and they share what they like. We won't like all the same things and somethings just bug each other but what we do share is awesome and thats what matters to me, don't close the door man you might miss something truely awesome

Well guess what. Those people who try to fail are going to get what they want. They won't get into college and if they do they'll fail or drop out, probably won't be able to hold a job and you can laugh at them later when they're begging for money outside of Walmarts. As for music, we all know today's music is shit covered in more shit. All we can do is listen to what we love, meet some friends who enjoy the same music, connect with them, make fun of today's music with them and try to catch some tribute concerts. The thing I'm worried about is the decreasing number of intelligent people in today's youth. What they hell is going to become of this country when people like you described are running it? Or how about the generation after us? Maybe, by some chance, they'll turn everything around and renaissance the shit out of us, but its probably unlikely. Then those people will be taking care of us

The kids today are to us like we were to our parents, crazy, stupid, and out of control. I think they called it a generation gap back then, they probably have some cool (tight) term for it now I gotta agree about the comics though. Same as the music. There are a few good comedians around, and several talented music artists. But for the most part I find the comedy a bit racist, even for my tastes, and the music is only good few and far between. And a lot of the music, I have a hard time believing some 17 yr old wrote the lyrics to the stuff I like. It wasn't like that when I was young, maybe it's changed, maybe I just didn't know better. But the kids like it, that's all that matters. They'll be the ones buying the float screen tvs in a few years and us oldies will be shuffling out to the mailbox for our retirement checks, even if they don't know as much as we did at their age ... circle of life, such as it is.
