I own some property on the ocean in the northwest coast of Washington, it's a little hike to the beach so other than some hippies and surfers it's not used very much by many people. I needed to take a break so off I went. Man it was a nice day when I finally got to the beach at around 1 pm. Man oh man what a beautiful day to not wear anything. Nobody around, just relax and enjoy. It doesn't happen very much in the northwest so I'm glad it got the day.

sounds like a fun day. the only way to say goodbye to summer in a cool/cold climate: naked and barefoot.

We had an unexpectedly sunny day in Brighton so I spent the afternoon at the nude beach, possibly for the last time until Spring - who knows? Had fun watching a couple of youngsters trying to walk barefoot on the pebbles. You get used to it after 10 years.

Well, I went to the beach today also, but it is pretty much a year-round thing here on Miami Beach. In fact, don't say goodbye to summer - do like all the Canadians and other northerners do, come to Miami.

Actually, besides the weather, our draw is the clothing optional beach. My apartment is four blocks from the ocean but I never go to that beach - instead I bike 4 miles to Haulover Park where the "nude" beach is.

As I was standing in the rain today talking to a friend he said what happened to summer? My reply was "I'm smart enough to know it's hot and sunny somewhere so I must like the rain". And you know I really do like it.

Oh, I neglected to mention rain.

We get it occassionally, coming in sideways on 50 MPH+ winds.

One thing we don't have to worry about our house blowing away

Plenty of rain here; it's a surprisingly wet climate. I may have my end of summer time out on the lake this week---probably already too late for comfortable swimming, but all the beaching on our lake is free. May be my last time for this season bare naked.

NOT my last time bare foot and in shorts, though. Lots of time left at my work and on my hikes in Acadia for that. The snow will come soon enough, that finally gets me into some sort of footwear, especially once the snow comes to stay on the ground all winter. Especially with the strong cold. But for now, I'm just looking at bidding farewell to nakedness outdoors for the long winter. Way it is here. The shorts never get put away though!
