soooooo i was at this rockin party last night and got into a convo about dreadies and someone told me that if the dreads get wet they totally start to suck. um, i think they were wrong but i'm just checkin for a general consensus on the issue.

well water is good for the faster maturing of your dreads and u have to wash them every now and then ya know its inevidable! Water is not something that fuckes them up, just making them stronger and CLEANER (atleast thats what it does to my dreads hah). of course when they are wet they loose some of their stiffness, but when they go dry again they become hard and nice again, so water is always good!

    geez the igniorance
evcery dread in the worlds been raiuned on
every dreads in the worlds been washed (we hope) and swam
water makes dreads better and cleaner salt water makes them tighter
mine have been wet at least 3600 times sincfe they ewere born..do they suck?

the only thing i can think of that he meant unless hes just totaly stupid is that they can take ages to dry..and can be very heavy when wet..

an ex of mine had a giant beaver tail of a dread in the back of his head...whenever it got wet it smelled like wet dog for days and days....he wasnt one for dread maintenence...Im pretty sure it was moldy on the inside. So, yeah I think dreads can get worse if you dont take proper care of them when there wet. But....its silly to say that water makes dreads suck. Its how you take care of them that makes a world of difference.

Please give the dreads some water, but make sure they don't stay wet too long. I have a thick bunch of long, natty dreadlocks and after I wash them I make sure I shake em out like a dog. I take the bottom part in my hands and shake them hard all around. Water goes flying everywhere! Oh it's sooo cool !!!!!!!!! :) I love my natty natty dreads, grown naturally and most definitely wax free! LOL!! Big up irieites!!!

um, my memory is fuzzy actually. i was talking with a person who had some pretty cool nattie dreads going on a year, but i can't remember if she gave me that advice or not. it was probably someone without them who had a friend who fucked it up.
