oh yeah, i definitely think that that is wrong, if there is anywhere where that is the law. another fucked up thing to consider: what if the local law says that an 18-year-old can't be with anyone younger than 16. so a 17-year-old is dating a 15-year-old, but the 17-year-old has a birthday first, so he's now 18 while the other is still 15. so would they have to break up until the 15-year-old's birthday?
Its hard to imagine such a time with our present day values. I say thank goodness for longer childhoods and more freedom.
Im not sure that i agree with this theory, as far as i know the Gay(male) community are highly sexualized and sexed but men still rape men... i think it has more to do with power issues and violence opposed to just being real horny.
So confusing!! But then again, who in their right mind is going to find that a problem? The only problem I see potentially arising, is if say, the gf's parents dislike her choice in bf, and they use that awkward law against him..
I actually knew a couple that was in that exact same situation, for a period of time she was technically raping him... he didnt seem to find though, they're probably still together (i dont see them anymore).
yeah, i think all the things mentioned so far combine together to cause the situation. i just had to add the horniness part because it hadn't been mentioned yet and i do think that it factors in.

I defiantley think it is a factor in rape but if these men weren't horny im sure they'd just kill,rape or beat the crap out of some one because i still think it has a lot to do with hate and power issues but i do agree hornyness does defiantley play a role.
I find this interesting as well, what if the 12 year old didn't know it was a 35 year old he/she was playing with? What if the 35 year old, didn't just have the mentality of a 12 year old, but also looked 12. The actual 12 year old wouldn't know the difference, and so would the 12 year old be harmed? If the 12 year old does the exact same things with the 35 year old, as the other hypothetical 12 year old does with his/her same age partner, where does the actual harm arise? Is it the act thats harmful to the child, the deception, or the future perception that they were infact harmed and their innocence stolen from them? now clearly the case of a 35 year old looking, and thinking 12 and the other 12 year old not knowing there was an age difference is so far fetched it can be reasonably assumed to never happen...its just such a curious thing to think of. For something that draws such strong emotions out of people that many would not hesitate to call for the death penalty, the lines can be incredibly blurry between what warrants punishment, and what warrants mere rehabilitation.
yeah, i really don't think that would ever happen... but if it did, then i'd say that the 35-year-old child would still need to be stopped. even if no harm was actually done to the 12-year-old, sometimes you just have to draw the line somewhere and i just don't see how this could not be across that line.
