last weekend in sept. until first weekend in oct. that's all i know right now, i think i have directions to a house that holding camp is taking place in, but they could be wrong so i'm not putting them up. but as info comes my way i can pass it on as long as i'm around we are leaving like 29 or 30 sept. love and light!
The gathering is usually the first two weeks of October. The shawnee is in beautiful southern illinois.
there are some people camped out already.still haven't nailed down witch site will be used.maybe one horse gap lake, maybe cedar lake.i'll be back in town and post more as the details get more clear. =]
ya'll think anyone will still be around come the first of november? headed that way but cant make it till then due to circumstances... and wheres the fam headed after that? anybody?
i cant do anything till mid october beginningof november either...i got a couple meetings with the doctor, see what she has to say and some stuff me and my case manager for my disability have been working on have finally been making progress...i would love to know where the family is going to after shawnee, and nobody say texas...i got a texas tick
After October, in this part of the country, anyway, you're running into two problems this time of year in the National Forrest: hunting season, and increasingly bad weather. I guess there's that Mississippi Thanksgiving thing for the rough and dirty tribe, Thanksgiving council in NM, but that's a working council, not a gathering, I have heard rumors of an October regional in North Georgia/East Tennessee, last one of those I went to, we had ice fog....not good camping weather. There are Florida gatherings in February, and maybe March now. Shawnee gathering's pretty much the end of the season.
SAY IT AINT SO!!! lets not forget the one the following year ,when little hawk, nap and alabama joan(or was it jody?) showed up at the site there was snow on the ground and no one to be found. yeah north georgia, east tennessee in late october is not a good plan.. at least not if your going to pick a spot at 3000 foot elevation...
aight i guess there was some sort of breakdown in the communication.apparently the gathering isn't going to be at one horse gap lake after all.these are the new directions.if anything changes i'll come back let ya's know.im heading out bright and early in the morning. safe travells cw take 13 east towards harrisburg take a right before harrisburg, onto 34/145 take 145 for about 6 miles right @ battleford road left on palestine left @ evenston cemetary left onto gravel rd, @ 4 way after church.
tribe is down....again...if anyone else has a tribe account please go on the family site there and repost these directions for me. thanks cw

so now there are 2 sets of directions, one being clearwaters original directions that he deleted and said were not correct, but seem to have been reposted as correct.. it would be nice for family that was planning on heading to shawnee if someone could verify which set of directions are correct...
im on my way there now and i'll repost the correct directions one last time before i go.the people on the land that i have contact with via cell phones say this is the proper directions.at first there was some confusion.someone mistakenly said they were at one horse gap lake.the first [wrong] directions were copied from the forest service web site.the right directions were given to me from people family on the land. cw take 13 east towards harrisburg take a right before harrisburg, onto 34/145 take 145 for about 6 miles right @ battleford road left on palestine left @ evenston cemetary left onto gravel rd, @ 4 way after church. __________________
