    Announcing the 3rd annual fallgathering of….
    Vancouver Island Ecovillage Youth Convergence:
    Cooperating for Capacity Building.
    September26th, 27th, 28th, 2008 at O.U.R ECOVILLAGE (www.ourecovillage.org )
    Shawnigan Lake.
    Comeexplore the possibility of building your own personal capacity and/or
    yourorganizational/community capacity.

    Each of us hold inour hearts and minds aspirations for healthy relationships within our
    communities and theland we live on. At this falls Convergence, we aim to
    explore and shareour personal visions, and to gain skills for building community
    capacitycollectively.
    We understand thatthe challenges we face in our world require collective action and
    that
    our personal effortsare most effective when in concert with a group of people.
    SPECIAL GUEST FACILITATOR:
    MARK LAKEMAN, Community Visionaryfrom The City Repair Project in Portland

    We will engage in activities, workshops,and discussions aimed at formulating group
    cohesion, shared vision, andcommunity building activities to take back into our own
    lives/neighbourhoods tomake a difference. Special attention is being given this
    Convergence to groupswho wish to start community/repair projects and want to look at
    the stepstowards creating this. We will join inhands-on learning projects to
    practice skills for living incommunity sustainably and to foster a deeper sense of
    how to live/worktogether.

    Where:O.U.R. Ecovillage, 1565 Baldy Mountain Road,Shawnigan Lake
    Whatto bring: work clothing, camping gear, rain gear, Gumboot dancingboots, musical
    instruments, water bottle, camera, ONLY biological soap/shampoo,cell phone/laptop
    (there are no public phones onsite), any food to share(especially if you glean fruit
    or dumpster dive we will process it all), andall else you think you might wish to
    share with other folk who are in theConvergence.
    2008 SCHEDULE:
    September 26th (Friday)
    4:00 onwardsArrival, site prep, team building, food & organizing.
    6:00 dinner (be sureto have booked ahead for this separately)

    September 27th (Saturday)

    9:45 - 10:00 Intros,opening ceremony, & team/community building
    10:00 - 11:00Presentation and Tour of OUR ECOVILLAGE
    11:00 - 12:30 SLIDESHOW MARK LAKEMAN
    12:30-1:30 lunch
    2:00 - 4:30 Hands-onLearning Projects (Natural Building, Food Productionetc.)

    • Yurt (tent, with wood floor) that can sleep 30+ people.
    • Onsite tenting.
    We do not have gearonsite so you must bring your own bedroll, tent, etc.
