    u dont want sticky
    wash the drap out well
    sea salt spray tightens
aloe gel (pure from refridgerated section of health food stores) diluted will help control frizz
    but
    dont worry bout the frizz
    its no big dreal

keep your haitr clean of alkl that gunk
    lets see4e a picture
but i bert ya if u clean out all the residues
    wait a few weeks
    youll see a difference
dont fall into the dread product trap\
    dreads need nothing but time
no ctrams gekls glues flakes nothing u cant get fronm a dip inb the ocean
    and making your own shampoos

    alriiiight. well.

a few of them were too fat, i didnt like them fat, so i cut them straight down the middle with scissors and rolled them, and now theyre nice n thin, BUT a couple of them went wrong..

one is just manged - its really thin and crappy but im happier with it now cause ive threaded loose hairs thru it, ive rolled it more, ive threaded more hair etc and it looks better

the other, its really really thin at the root, and im just worried that the weight of it will eventually cause it to snap, but we'll deal with that when we get there.

the few down my neck, they had loose sections.. like it was the root, then matted hair, then tight, then just strands of hair, then back to the tight and then the end,, so i backcombed the loose parts, which in turn caused about 2 or 3 inches of hair to just break off, which i kinda was and wasnt expecting to happen,, so with these ones i cant decide if i wanna put wax on (i know..) to keep them together, or just wash them and pray theyll tighten as they dry. i keep palm rolling them but nothing much seems to happen, but theyre not as loose as they were when i did it

as for the frustration.. i think its just because i expected them to be awesome. maybe i was reeled in by the sales pitch on the KBoy site, it wouldnt surprise me. ive just been feeling down about the whole thing.. loose hairs, loops, crappy tips etc, but then theyre 6 months old so theyre babies..

in conclusion (really didnt mean this to be really long..)

i do like them, definately since ive found this forum and read a bit more and discovered that a) more people are/have been going through what i am and b) i know what ive done wrong, and c) i know how i can partially correct it

i think i was just losing patience, like,, i just expected them to 'happen', but it doesnt work that way..

    actualy idt does
but you workd against them just happening by glkuing them toigether cutting them aparty rolling and working sticking hairs where u thought they belonged instead of allowing them to juyst happen
u fell for theyre manufatctured quick easy dread lie
the frustratiuoins in the hours and hours oif effort to nit get the resultsthat u believe u should get
stoip the effort.. compoletely and every tiny bit of resulkt u get with no work whatsoeverr becomes a blssing not like now when u get lil result for maximun effort and seems like a cuerse

the rewards are not onlyt in the resulting dreads form9ing but in the freedom from all the exxccess erffort and frustrationwith the amount iof wrk for the lkimmeted results

think of all u just said u did...thats alot..much of whichwas dammaging ..u try to enforce your will ion toyr hair instesd of letting go allowing the will of the hair to create its naturl state

hair wants to drewad..dereads happen if u alow them

    relax
the journerys most enjoyable when itsd effortless and relaxing free from wiork and frustratioin]
think of it as a vacatioin from your job..in this case the job being styling your hair and fussing obdfer it..and the vacation being endless

Hi, my name is Jason, and I'm a (newbie) Dreadaholic. A week or so old, washed twice, crocheted a bit to tighten and round the ends. For some reason I didn't find this site before, but I'm glad I did, as are many newbies. I swear, any and everything of interest is overrun by goons trying to make money off of unsuspecting people all the time, with their gimmicky garbage. I mega-over-waxed it at first (just used $2.50 bees wax thankfully), and still have that nasty residue in there, but it's going away slowly as I wash. Thank goodness, since they feel so much lighter! HAHA! Gonna let them do their thing now.

I will if it feels to be a problem. It feels pretty good at the moment. See, at first, I got the wrong wax, which was a bit lighter and then I topped that with the 100% beeswax. I think the first stuff kept it from sticking, and it washes out pretty clean. I'm sure I'll eventually have to deep clean it though. Thanks for the warm welcome.

dont think there is a right wax..wax is a sticky gunk that hardens.. it prevents the hair from moving so they look stuck togrether sorta like dreads, but the hair cant move to knot and become dreads
and..anythimng that will stick hair together will stick dirt to hair
    it'll trap water as well
and may eventiualy lead to mold
but even if it dont mold it will just keep accumilating dirt

unfortunately the more popular dreads become the more scames we'll see
we had 1 guy on here promoying his insta dread machimne
he claimed to invent a machimne that gave u dreads instantly...and dod maintanance too

it was woirth a good laugh though

Hello All! My name is Fifer, and I've been letting my hair go natural for over six months. I've only got about nine dreads going so far, but they seem to be locking up pretty well only using residue free shampoo.
A Rasta woman once told me that every new dread you get is a piece of wisdom and maturity that you've gained. That being said, I'm getting really impatient to have a whole head full of dreads and am thinking about back combing. We’ll see whether romanticism or impatience wins ;)
