I am pro choice in any and all circumstances and I got into this thread http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=315340&f=352 and I got to thinking many pro lifers think a woman should have the baby even if she was beat and raped and impregnated that way. If I was to be pro life (which I am not) I would use The morning after pill (Plan B) in my argument of why a raped woman should have the baby because that pill is available without prescription at any pharmacy and can be taken up to 48 hours after intercourse. I want to know what you all think about Plan B both pro lifers and choicers, anyone ever use it? I have (not me but gf) and who knows if it prevented pregnancy or not but $42 is much less then $400 for an abortion or the hundreds of thousands a kid costs.
I think it should be 100% the woman's decision. You don't agree with abortion? Okay when you get knocked up don't get one. Don't try and outlaw it for everybody else. I can't stand people that think pro-choice=pro-death. The whole debate just makes me sick really.
I agree ^ Yea i regret posting on this bcuz i know that someone is gonna come along and bash me For sayin a pro choice...but oh well
Not to mention sometimes I wish I was aborted. I mean its weird how you just get dragged into this world by your parents. Nobody asks you if feel like being alive or not.
I am pro-life....no matter the situation ,whether a product of rape or the result of true love..every life has the same value
^ i like that, Once in debate class this girl and me went at it cuz i didnt value life, when i asked her if it was a product of rape would it be okay. she said then it would be understanable i was so pissed, i mean i didnt value life? she didnt value it as much either
What about the life of a 15 year old girl who is forced to raise an unwanted child by her government? Do you value her life? Do you value her choice?
Besides the obvious contradiction that killing a million-cell flea is legal while killing a one-cell zygote is somehow wrong, the abortion issue can only be judged by fertile women.
Sorry...I dont want to argue whether I am right or wrong..I was just giving my views to the original question and poll
I would think that adoption might be a viable option.. no? To answer the question, I am pro-life (unless the pregnancy in some way or another endangers the mothers life, or sometimes in the case of rape & incest) I have used the "morning after pill" plan b. It's actually not in any form, abortion. If you're already pregnant, it doesn't kill the baby. It just prevents pregnancy if you haven't conceived yet.. I'm all for it.
Yea let's make abortion illegal and have more kids up for adoption than we have in our prison systems. More foster children being adopted from America means that less families will adopt children from other countries who actually need families to feed and take care of them. So while so American product of some fucked up Christian law (who could have been aborted and not suffered at all) is sitting over here getting fat a kid from Ethiopia has to starve to death.
I'm pro-life. I believe that we cannot determine precisely when life begins. Does it begin at conception? When the baby has a heart beat? When the baby can feel pain? As soon as the baby leaves the birth canal? Since it cannot accurately be determined, why risk murdering another by having an abortion. All life is precious. I believe a woman should still have a baby in the case of rape. Just because you were raped and emotionally traumatized, does it justify the murder of your unborn child? Adoption or possibly morning after pill (still doing my research on morning after pill..) is the viable option in this case. Not sure where I stand on if the woman's life is endangered. Might be pro abortion in that case...still have some philosophy to work out before I say definitively. Abortion for the cause of convenience sickens me. edit: I have researched Plan B and came to the conclusion that I don't have anything against it. Therefore: Pro life and support the use of it.
I am VERY pro-choice. I don't think a woman should ever be forced to have a child if she doesn't want too. As for the rape thing, sure adoption is a option, but if you were that woman, would you want the product of your rape growing inside of you for 9 months? Every single day being reminded of it? I don't think so. I think it's easy to say that a woman that was raped should bear the child, however I don't believe that if the men who say that could actually go threw with it when put in that place. Sorry, just my $.02
Not to open the can of worms but... If you are pro choice, when do you believe a "fetus" is a human life?
