Man.... Do I feel bad for the doctor and dentist who gets me as a patient. I haven't been to the doctor OR the distance in a number of years. As far as the doctor goes, I'm going to be an all day patient. I've got to giant lumps in my wrists, one on each side, and on the right side there seems to be something growing off the lump that really hurts at times. I've a lump in my right peck that hurts like hell when I sneeze. I need their assistance in quitting smoking(talk shit if you must, I can't do it on my own). I've got back problems I need them to address and some other small stuff. I'm sure they'll love me. As for the dentist, I'm sure I'll have to make a handful of trips to have my mouth cleaned in sections because it's been so long. That'll really suck for me. I'm sure the dentist will appreciate the paycheck though. When was the last time you went to the doctor? What was it for?
i go every two weeks at least.. because i'm pregnant. they check my pee, weigh me and ask if i have any problems and send me home... oh they check for a heartbeat (in the baby), take blood pressure and measure the size of my uterus. fun stuff. i need to go to the dentist and get new glasses while i have insurance
wow, mak. did you grow up near a nuclear dump site? you're only 24! i don't go to the doctor, and i loath health insurance. insurance companies are the scum of the earth and doctors are their little bitches. but that's just my opinion. that being said, i had a physical 3 months ago, as a requirement to getting a job. i haven't been to the dentist in many years. i would take dental insurance, cause i know i need to go and i've got some shit to fix. and i need to go to the eye doctor so i can get me some more contacts... my eyes are so bad. but aside from dentist and eye doctor, i refuse to go to the doctor. that physical was hopefully the last time i have to see an MD.
insurance is great AS LONG AS your employer is paying for it. otherwise its a waste of money for most for anything other than a catastrophic illness.
I'm fairly sure atleast one of these lumps will require surgery. I haven't had medical insurance since my dad's coverage stopped covering me. I always just go to the ER where they can't refuse me and then I don't pay because I feel medical should be free. With surgery though no insurance means money up front or no surgery, and nobody is giving me a pity grant for something that's not life threatening. I also took the Aflac because the few payments I make will not exceed the money they'll end up paying me. And naked, no I didn't grow up near a toxic dump. haha Physically, I got the short end of the stick genetically. That and there's a lot of miles on this 24 year old body....
