Ok, so obviously you aren't supposed to do this for the obvious reasons, but, I'm curious how many people have done it, would they do it again, what their experience doing it was, etc. As for myself I have done this, and unfortunately enjoyed it. As dangerous as this was to do (and I never intend on doing it again), I found that I actually was more in tune with my car, and actually a better driver. When attempting to drive the ultimate goal is to become one with the car, and I'm sure its possible for some people to see how LSD could (in some ways) help this. Some of you might say that I'm a dumb kid who is messing with dynamite. I probably am, but I realize that and would prefer it if nobody flamed me for it.
I did it several times. Its not recomended as you loose sence of space. Driving itself is not a problem, problem is that every now and then you start wondering where the fuck I am now, and then it takes you few moments to realize where you are and where you are going. I found very helpful to repeat where you need to turn, like "t junction left", "t junction left" and when you got lost you end up hearing yourself saying "t junction left" and you realize where you are much quicker. Anyway, don't do it unless you have to.
yea, that sounds pretty crazy. im not really a big fan of driving when im stoned.. doin 40km's an hour feels like i'm goin at least double that.. but i think it would be cool to bush bash in a paddock when you were on acid
1 time, my power went out and I was at my parents and I had just started peeking, so I called people to see if I could go there... called a friend, he was tripping with some friends... so I drove 15 miles in a hard rain and lightening storm, made a wrong turn onto a dirt road (cuz I just HAD to hurry off the highway) drove 20 minutes around dirt roads I had pull over to gather mythoughts and decided to turn back home, I drive a lil ways and find his house (i'd never been there b4) DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!
In fact, this was the only problem I had. However, when I managed to fill up my tank, I intentionally got lost, it was actually a rewarding trip driving on backroads. Driving itself tends to bring clarity to the mind and clarity on LSD is key to a trip one can grow from.
my good friend was one to always say "its bullshit how people get scared or fucked on mushies man i want to take shitloads, you always tell me to be careful , fuck that, i WANT to be scared, i WANT to fuck out and go crazy for a day" so he put 20 or so, of the same grotty little blacky blue mushies we had eaten the night before, into a tea and drank it down, and then my other friend, realising he didnt want to fuck out, put down his tea, and once seeing this, my stupid friend drank tha tea aswell. this is like a big fat double-handfull of the most potent looking wet blue black mushies. we then realised he was the only one that could drive us that day, and by the time he had gone beyond tripping into a horrificly disturbing "i hope he comes back to us one day" skitzophrenic/psychosis-like state that consisted of him not being able to walk, use his hands, talk properly (his face literally looked like he had suffered a stroke), repeating "what's happening to me?", rocking back and forth guffawing with the eyes of someone truely truely, horrificly mad and impaired, he couldnt even use his hands to turn the key. then suddenly he was driving, more or less perfectly. left, right, brake, gear change, the moment his mind had something to do he was """""fine""""". keep in mind at this stage he was not driving far and even though i pleaded with him not to the other pinger-headed irresponsibles seem to have no problem with it so he was going to whether or not i was in the car, i chose the front seat hoping i could grab the wheel or something if need be. later that day when his mind was relatively back but his body was fucked (i swear his whole nervous system just didnt know what to do and collapsed) he drove me a hour up the mountain to my girlfriend's house, and halfway through, at such perfect timing, we of course had to be pulled into some big ass police traffic breathilizer complex fucker of a thing on the side of the highway, with about 30 cops checking everyone and generally violating everyones rights, man, he could hardly tell the cop his name or where he lived, we were both still tripping hard as fuck, the cops taking photos of the car and stuff, we had a bong in the back but somehow he didnt see, and so after a while he had to let us carry on "frankfuu orfessa" my friend says, and proceedes to hopelessly try to put his key into the ignition, his hands contorting and shaking and carrying on of their own will possessed, i had to wait till the cop wasnt ooking and start the car for him hahaha. he learnt his lesson and why i had told him to respect the shroom.
I've had to drive a bunch of times. The only problem I ever had was my arms and hands feel and look like they are billowing and rippling extra flesh and bubble out longer and shorter
twice...the first time was when i was peaking. It had been a strange night, took 3 hits and didn't start tripping for six hours. The night was a mess, i had locked my keys in my car at my boyfriends hosue, and wasn't tripping while he and everyone was tripping face. The next morning I had to deal with my parents to get my spare, while peaking mind you (45 minutes after I finally started tripping). Before I went home (after I picked up my car) I drove around for about two hours, just taking streets near my house, avoiding dealing with my parents while tripping balls. I then drove another hour back to school about 3 hrs into my trip. i found it fun. I mean it was weird, 3D objects became 2D on occasion and that became difficult, but it was managble and made it more exciting...i in no way will say that i was a "better driver" but i did it fine...it was daylight and i was alone with no distractions the second time was when I was tripping so hard, and one of my friends started having a bad first trip (thinking his friend was gonna kill him, and we were all out to get him) so I had to take him home. This time I had two other people in my car...it was much harder. At one point there was a cop behind us for quite some time, I remember panicking, but part of me knew I'd be ok the whole. It helped having someone next to me. I focused my attention on the road, and he told me if i needed to speed up or slow down etc... Oh and we had watched transformers twice ( i know what a lame thing to do while tripping...i know whatever) and I had this experience in the woods when we went for a walk after the movie...there were lights in the sky, like headlights. They dropped to the ground, falling from the height of a tall old pine tree. I remember seeing these lights, watching them fall to the ground and zoom towards me. I swear I heard an engine too. I was a deer in headlights, watching a car drive or fly (maybe a combo) towards me at a really fast speed. As soon as the lights got close to me the car disappeared...it was weird. so while driving that night, the headlights played tricks on me and i had to convince myself that the headlights around me were real. driving is fun, but i dont recommend it...but if there comes a situation and it has to happen, and you KNOW you are prepared, or you can kinda snap out of a trip temporarily[/I ] then i think you'll be ok
i have done it many a time and i thoroughly enjoy it. the great thing is that i live right next to some wicked remote roads where the town its in only has one cop lol. my moms car has a bunch of lights in it and a touch screen and everytime i feel like im in a space ship and love it. i get to thinking about starwars and lightspeed travel and the car starts to flatten out like im goin through hyperspace or somethin. def a great thing to do if u can control it. the worst part is wen u get stopped by those po9's def a heart stopping experience!
i dosed once while camping with friends and right after we got set up and built a fire some old guy showed up and told us we weren't allowed to camp there anymore and we had to leave. it was evening and already dark so we packed up and decided to drive home...which was 2 hours away. i'd never dropped so much but we had nowhere to go and no choice but to drive home..and it was a strange experience. everything was kinda jelly..and it looked kinda like Rad Racer on the nes..with the "3-d" feature. the strangest thing for me was the space between cars...one minute i'm far behind the lights of the car ahead of me and suddenly there i am right up on them....and it was like i just phased there. i just remember freaking out thinking about how long the drive was gonna be and how i didn't want to be doing it...but the drive was over before i knew it and i was back in town. i've driven a few other times on less..and those were enjoyable experiences : )
hahaha Well said. I drive so well on cid. I do it regularly. That being said, if im peaking so hard to the point where i cant but words together i dont drive. But after the peak subsides its pretty easy. I actually find myself paying more attention because i know that my cognitive abilities are impaired, so i focus to make up for it.
I will confess....plenty of times. The first time I tripped (on mushrooms) my friends taught me how to drive standard. I just remember them both yelling, "clutch....shift....gas..." etc. One time after finishing a tour with the dead in Colorodo (long time ago...maybe 91) we were driving to Austin to visit a friend. (very very long ride) We had a sheet of pretty nice acid (cost $75). Anyway, one day we took acid very late at night and we started driving for the night. On this trip I almost always drove since it was my van...it over heated when it was really hot, so we usually drove at night. ('69 dodge sportsman van...popup roof...it was soooo cool) So, the LSD came on and we started peaking while driving....very interesting. Sun came up. And we stopped at a rest area to rest for the day. I remember after stopping the sensation of motion just wouldn't go away for about an hour. It was very strange physically. I don't recommend it. And if you had strong visuals it might be hard to control things. Also, if you encounter a construction area with flashing yellow lights on barrels lined up in a row for half a mile...watch out....it can take a lot of concentration.
I had something similar with mushrooms and stepping off an elevator bottom floor in a casino in Atlantic City once. It felt like the whole casino was going down
stay off the freeway your sense of distance etc is too fucked... take back roads.. my friend did this recently and he knew 'no way im gonna be able to take the freeway like this'
I had to pretend I was playing a video game. I knew exactly where I was going but I was tripping really hard. I kept telling myself I was gaining points for doing things correctly and losing points for going over the line or speeding and such. It was actually quite a blast, albiet a bit frightening.
it is rather irresponsible sort of in the same way as talking on the phone when driving, but not like drinking and driving
personally, i avoid being behind the wheel impaired. even when high, I can have tendencies to fall in and out of my attention span, and its very dangerous to lose concentration and timing skills like that.
