Do any of you know of any fruit or vegetable juices that have all the..uh..good things for your body that milk has? Soy milk is not an option, I live with carnivore parents. Thanks in advance:)

Well besides soymilk there is ricemilk which is pretty good. Other than that all I can reccomend is V8 which has a lot of the vitamins that you need. But for protein you need to take extra supplements. Tropicana OJ makes their products with vitamins A and D as well as with Calcium. But veg heads really need Vitamins B12 and Protein mainly. Hope this helps. Peace

Oatmilk is good too, if you are allergic to soy.

Theres soymilk, ricemilk, almond milk. There might be more. I personally think nondairy milks taste better than real milk.

I love soymilk.. but your parents suck so that doesn't really help any lol.

But yea, just look around at some fruit/veggie drinks at the store and compare the nutritional values. V8 is probably good for vitamins and such, and like Laurel said, you can get Tropicana and different orange juices calcium enriched. But I would be mainly concerned with the vitamins and calcium.. You can get your protein elsewhere.

actually, protein isn't really a concern unless you're surviving on junk food. it's rare you hear of someone with a protein deficiency- almost all foods have it

vegetarians may have to worry about b-12 and omega-6 though.

but don't ever let anyone tell you you don't get your protein. beans, tofu, whole grains, mushrooms...

With the exception of B12, you can get all the nutrients found in milk from plant sources.

    1. Calcium is found in green leafy vegetables, some types of tofu, and some seeds and nuts.
    2. Vitamin D is naturally synthesized in the body when skin is exposed to sunlight. As little as 15 minutes a day of sun exposure to the face and lower arms gives people all the vitamin D they need.
    3. It is nearly impossible not to get enough protein as long as you are eating a well balanced diet with sufficient calorie intake.
    4. Potassium is found in a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans and seeds, including bananas and potatoes.
    5. Vitamin A is found in carrots and many other vegetables.
    6. Riboflavin is found in whole grains, almonds, mushrooms & leafy green vegetables.
    7. Niacin is found in yeast extracts, brown rice, peanuts & mushrooms.
    8. Phosphorus is found in most nuts, asparagus, many leafy greens, and several fruits including bananas, blackberries and strawberries.
    9. Vitamin B12 is the only vitamin of the nine touted by the National dairy Board to be "uniquely" found in dairy products that is not found naturally in plant-based foods. Vegans should take a daily sublingual supplement. Other sources include nutritional yeast, fortified cereals and non-dairy milks.

It's too bad you can't get soy milk. It is very, very tasty.

If your parents will buy you more veggie/fruit juice why can't they pick up a container of soy milk?? Most all stores sell at least 1 brand? I mean it's at the same store your buy all the other stuff??

if you earn your own money...i just thought of this....you can buy your own soy milk! That is how my dad has always been. He'll buy regular juice and veggies but for tofu, tempeh, and soy milk I buy that...been like that when I earned and allowance and like that when I got a job. See if that works.

    P.S.

    What is Omega-6?

True, it's not getting enough that's usually the problem, but you do need to get a variety of them. There are something like 20 amino acids that make up all the proteins, and you need to make sure you get a COMPLETE SET of them. Your body needs them to make all the proteins in you.

soy milk dosen't go bad nearly as fast as normal milk, so why would they have a problem with getting you some soy milk that you could easily consume before it turned?

Many non-dairy milks are fortified with B12, but not all. So make sure you read your labels. Silk soy milk is fortified with B12, and some varieties of Rice Dream are fortified as well, just as an example.

I believe that there are 22 amino acids, but only nine of them are indispensible (the others can mostly be made in the body from the other amino acids).

If you eat a well-balanced, varied diet, getting all the aminos is pretty easy. Plus, there are several plants that produce beans or seeds that contain complete protein. Off the top of my head, soy, amaranth and quinoa contain complete protein.
