What are your Favorite Independent films?

I am writing down some of the films in this thread, they sound awesome.

Another great one I forgot about is "The Idiots"....I believe its danish. Its about a group of people that have formed some sort of Idiot commune where the members seek out their inner spaz. Its a very no-frills movie which I like.

 

My favorite is Me, You and Everyone we Know. But some other good ones are; Life is Beautiful, Slums of Beverly Hills, Los Perros Amores...and that one with Don Cheadel...erghhhh

 

hotel rwanda!!!!!!!!!!! that's it. Not sure if that was indie or not. But I was cheating on my boyfriend at the time with the guy who took me to see that. Movies and drinks are always the best date...doesn't make the guy spend tons of money before he is sure he likes you a lot (unless he's a douche-then make him take you on vacation for your first date and don't sleep with him)anyway i am stoned and hotel rwanda was good.

 

"Ayass to Ayass" Requiem... just when things couldn't possibly get worse... they do. That is such a hard movie to watch, because it is so well done.

Memento was fantastic... and if you liked it, see Primer. Different subject, but for some reason I associate the two films with each other...

Oh and Pi.

 

Oldboy(Korean movie)

 

Ooooooo.....I just watched Oldboy two nights ago.

Fanfuckingtastic.

Did not see that ending coming.

 

You are one of the few people I 'know' that have seen it. I've been telling everybody I know about this movie for about 3 years now.

 

I love Asian films.

Have you seen 2046? Another good one.

 

I have seen it. Its bloody fantastic. I love movies that mix love and violence.

 

2046 is also awesome. That girl, whatever her name is, is a real hottie. She is in Hero and Memoirs of a Geisha. Raise the Red Lantern is another stunning asian film.

 

Did anybody see Lust, Caution?

I want other's opinions on this one.

 

I loved 2046. Zhang Ziyi is a hotty.

Also The House of the Flying Daggers is one of the most cinematically beautiful movies I've seen. It's in a 'Hero' type of mode.

House of Flying Daggers is one I haven't seen, but I want to.

I have seen Hero (loved it) and Curse of the Golden Flower, which was also a goody.

I remember seeing hero on the only date I have ever been on (that counts anyway). We were really moved. I am pretty sure that movie is responsible for me getting laid that night.
