There might already be a thread about Feardotcom, but I checked the first 7 pages of film postings, so I'm going to assume it's safe. If there was a thread, and I've double-topicked, I'm sorry. Anyway... I bought Feardotcom today, since it was 7 bucks at Zellers. My buddy Trav who works at Blockbuster was all "dude don't watch that, it totally blows, not scary at all." Ok. I put it in... and turned it off about 1/2 an hour into it, scared shitless. Honestly. I can't remember the last scary movie I turned off. Hell, I watch them all the time... just two days ago I fell asleep during Nightmare on Elm Street! But for some reason, this scared the hell out of me. Did anyone else find this movie really scary? Oh.. please don't give away the end, I do intend to finish it... during daylight... One Very Scared and Embarrassed Super_Grrl :&
Something about that back bathroom stuck out at me. Just like the white panelled closet doors in Pet Cemetary. I'm not really sure why. I'm just odd. Regardless, I have seen the movie a few times. It's decent.
Oh God, epiphany, you brought back Pet Cemetary.. that movie scares the CRAP out of me perfect for a lonely night and just so you know, you can click on forum options and search, and type in the name of a movie so you can see if there's a thread on it
I rented Feardotcom on the recommendation of someone in a thread on these forums because they said it was scary and disturbing... and it SUCKED WORSE THAN JUST ABOUT ANY MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. EVER!! And on top of not being scary, and being stupid, it was A DIRECT RIPOFF OF "THE RING"!! I was quite annoyed with having rented it and wasted the free rental coupon I had. :$ -Jeffrey
I don't know about it being a ripoff of "The Ring". I think someone just ripped off a short story I wrote a long time ago, LOL! I was thinking about creating a website that told people-"if you go here what you see will kill you."
All I remember about that movie was that it was really fucked up and I had no idea what was going on by the end of it.
Ok... an update on Feardotcom..... I just finished it, and wow talk about messed up. Actually I thought it was quite good, so I don't know what the hell Trav was talking about (and he's usually so bang-on about stuff like this lol) but I thought it was good. Scary though, holy shit!
Sorry, the movie was nearly nonsensically stupid. And anyone who cannot see the heavy derivation from The Ring in that movie is BLIND. -Jeffrey
i hated it... i agree with jeffrey, it was stupid and a total rip off of The Ring... watch The Ring, though, that gave me nightmares! and my family's a pretty big horror movie watching clan.
Here's the thing: The Ring didn't scare me at all. While watching it, I sat and did my rug-hooking. (I made a pink pillow with a butterfly, yeah!)
