The other day i tried putting some bud at the bottom of medium-sized a glass jar, then closing the jar and setting it on top of a candle so that the flame would heat the glass. After a few minutes i could see a haze in the jar, so i unscrewed the top and breathed in the contents. I kept repeating this about every 3 to five minutes until the weed was brown and very dry. This took a little while but it got me high. I'm going to try it again tonight. It didn't seem to smell up my room at all. The only taste was a slight feeling of eating popcorn (this weed tastes like corn when smoked). Aslo it just seems kind of cool to have your little jar cookin away on the desk while you're chilling in a more laid-back manner.
Haha, I guess I could have predicted that... Did you put your face in the smoke and suck in whatever you could?! :willy_nilly:
nahh. i was too stunned. i just sat there. now i just have a broken jar, crispy dank, and a room that smells a little bit like popcorn.
haha. PV=nRT right? (sorry, science joke). yeah dude you were just vaporizing your weed is all. a great way to get high, so long as you don't heat an air tight container of course.
The reason your jar exploded was that it was sealed. The air inside expanded. Plus most jars are not made of glass that will expand like Pyrex. I have to say when I first started reading the thread I thought to myself that I was supprised it did not explode. Then I scrolled down. Sorry.
Hahahaha, Pvnrt! I remember the saying but I cant remember the constant for it (n=9.31 or something). But ya - Pressure builds on the walls of the glass...glass can not handle pressure, therefore glass will shatter to make space for the pressure.
ive tried this also...it gets u high but not as high u smoking a fat blunt....i dont recommend it but if u dont like to smoke u shuld try this first my frend duz it...and wen ur heating the bottle with the bud in the bottom dont cool the bottle by putting it under water it well EXPLODEEEEE!
I assumed it would do that too, but it was fine the first time so i figured it wasn't heating it up too hot. Then i wondered it the break was in fact caused by pressure or by the difference in the temperature of the glass, since it blew the sides all around about one inch from the bottom. If it's cause by the pressure, there's got to be an easy fix, like putting a tiny hole in the lid or something. I prefer this method to the lightbulb actually.
Maybe i will use a jar that has one of those 2 part lids with the screw-on part and the thin metal disc that goes under it, but instead of the disc i'll put some aluminum foil that's a little crinkled down, so that it will give when the air expands.
