Not exactly a straight up marijuana busted story but it is relevant. A couple of my friends rent a house in the mountains about 15 minutes away from campus. I usually go there on the weekends to smoke and play Wii/Foosball. We were drinking one night and though it would be cool if we had a party with some of their neighbors. We talked to the people that lived in the two closest houses and they were down. Originally we had planned to get 3 kegs and just invite people over to play beer pong and maybe get a live band in one house. Last week they talked to the rest of their neighbors and decided with the number of people that would show up that they should get 6 kegs. Two kegs were put in each house. My friend's house had the band in the basement, another had 4 pong tables, and the third had two pong tables and a few hookahs for socializing. We invited just about anyone and everyone and told people to show up around 10pm. We set up the houses a few hours before and people started to show up around 9pm. At 11pm there were probably close to 100 people and I had to go get my roommate back on campus. When I came back there were people EVERYWHERE. Lines for the kegs were at least 20 deep at each house. We finally got our cups filled and headed to the basement to watch the band. I remembered it was my dad's birthday so I went outside and sat in my car so I could call him. I talked to him for a few minutes and when I hang up I see a cop walking through all the people. I dump my beer and lock all my weed and paraphernalia in my car. I go inside my friend's house to already find him and another guy dragging the two kegs out to the back porch. They went outside and talked to the officer that had showed up who said he just needed everyone to leave. There were somewhere between 400 and 500 people there so this one cop knew he couldn't do it alone. My friends cooperated, telling everyone to leave and pushing the masses of people out of their house. It took some time but everyone eventually left. The cop told us that any staying at one of the houses should stay inside because anyone still outside would be arrested. By that time 5 more cops had showed up but they were still at the mercy of the hundreds of drunk people trying to leave. My friends were each given noise tickets and the cop was required to call their landlord. Thankfully the cops never saw the kegs as their lease specifically states "NO KEGS". Once the cops left we went to the back porch to find one of the kegs still half full. We sat around for a few more hours drinking off the rest of the beer. I left around 4am. I talked to one of my friends today, asking if it was hard to clean all the shit up. He said it was mostly cups laying around but they had found half a case of beer in the woods, a joint and a bunch of other crap.
lol tight man sounds like a good party, shitty that it got busted. The 1 cop thing reminds me of something my friend said about anarchy and how all the citizens in a country could easily overthrow a government.
He knew it wouldn't be smart to get confrontational with hundreds of drunk people. Because my friends live so far out in the boondocks it was 20 minutes before another cop showed up. It took an hour for all 6 to be present.
if you have 6 kegs people will come it's like magic, they follow the flow of beer glad to hear no one got a seriouis ticket.
It sounds like a pretty good party! I find that once a party spills onto streets then its going to get busted eventually. That is why we host them in my neighbors house which has large land out back. Good for 100 people. But still I prefer 6-8 people weed and chilling. Theres something about my friends that makes those nights as wild as a huge parties.
I hate it when ppl come when you dont invite them.. yea its fun with alot of ppl but it gets pretty ridiculous.. To bad it got busted tho
Lol. I'm 18 and the youngest so probably not. More that we do crazy things but its not lost in tons of people. I guess smaller groups are better for relaxing after a long week and recovering, while big parties you can get wild and go nuts
This wasn't really an invite only party. My friends that paid for the kegs were the ones selling the cups. They were hoping to make a little extra money but after they figured the court costs, they came out even. We were pretty sure the cops showed up only because someone got in a horrible accident about halfway down the mountain. The cops said they were doing over 40mph (posted speed limit is 20 and I NEVER go above 30) and they flipped their Jeep. The driver was airlifted to Duke (200 miles away). Cops probably saw dozens of cars going up the mountain when normally you see a car or two when driving up.
I live in an on-campus apartment so for smoking the max is about 6 or so. Sometimes I've had as many as 14 people in my room though. The biggest party we've had here was about 30 people, which is a LOT to fit in a tiny apartment. I got too sketched out that time and I left though, usually on campus the more people at a party the more likely its going to be busted. My friends had a party with 200-300 people at their place. The way their house is though, you can't see or hear anything from the main road so it didn't get busted.
