I want to show so many people DMT, mainly because it is a psychedelic that wears off very quickly.. it is so clear and colourful.. well i think people should experience something that makes them question their assumptions.. but questions can sometimes get out of hand. I dont think that on dmt, the questions can quite get that far. but i dont want to ruin anyones life. I would not give someone acid or anything like that because the experience is so long and the effects can be lasting, and the mind loops paralysing. but dmt is very different, the mental process is largely the same but the world around you (inside you) changes. so im wondering, if anyone has been freaked out by their dmt experience? I know dmt can be very freaky but that usually only lasts while the trip is on, which is a short period of time. anyone seen someone totally flip out while on dmt? ive actually never seen someone on dmt - ive only done it by myself or with people who themselves were not tripping. so im also wondering whether it might look frightening
my last trip was a complete freak out. i have never been that scared in my life. i felt terrible like i was gonna throw up, and i forgot everything i ever knew, and i thought i was gonna be stuck like that forever, and i would have to relearn everything. so i was running around panicking, and all around me is everything is fluxuating in and out, and im running forward and back through time, so it was just like even more wtf this crazy, i just want this to end feeling.
yeh i read your post on that.. but im not interested so much in the trip, rather im interested in what, if any, impact that had on your life since then
the only lasting affects I've seen is a deeper connection to consciousness thoughout the universe... I've never reacted adversely to n, n-dmt and I've never seen anyone but sit there with their jaw dropped and soul soaring. I don't need to take as much psychedelics as I used to.... One mushroom does me very well, remind me of DMT very much. Rick strassman interviewed people who he dosed IV months afterward, and they said it didn't really affect them at all. Everyone's different....make sure whoever you show these realms to are ready to fly, ready to sing, and ready to meet the others
In almost every case I've seen, even with complete schizo like freak outs, is that the individual usually finds themselves happy and more connected to life for several days or weeks after the experience. I've never noticed anyone having negative long term effects from smoking dmt, except for one gentlemen... but he was already schizophrenic and should not have been smoking in first place. The experience connected him to god in such a way where he thought he was god, and eventually had to be brought back to the behavioral center to straightened out. (Its worth mentioning, he wasn't taking his meds at the time either).
I met an archeologist today who was telling me everyone who he's ever met who's tried DMT was damaged in some way. It was strange....
Possible. I mean... we are doing DRUGS. There are permanent changes occurring in the brain whenever we take something... so I suppose this could be viewed as "damage" Or did the chicken come before the egg? Perhaps it is us damaged ones that seek out substances like DMT...
I disagree with you completely. Dmt is not a drug, it's a neurotransmitter. The very few times I have worked with it I was recalibrated. I believe it is extremely beneficial to the spirit to fly through these realms. It resets my brain, gets rid of the junk. The only possible damage would be from inhaling a poor extract.
Well, I wont argue the point about DMT being a drug or a neurotransmitter... because... well... I suppose its both. But I completely agree with everything else you said. Especially the part about it resetting your brain, and getting rid of the junk. Didn't consider the damage that could be caused by a poor extraction or synthesis... that's very possible. What about poor smoking techniques? I wonder if combusting DMT(burning, as opposed to cleanly vaporizing) can release anything harmful to the lungs?
it is possible that people are changed by DMT. Although DMT is naturally released, this occurs in sleep or other strange periods. something might be unique about taking a large dose of dmt while conscious
Actually DMT is always flowing, and is always playing a role in our consciousness regardless of mode. Something might be unique? Oh yes, my friend. Very.
I think so. I believe people can be changed by DMT in the same fashion that somebody may be changed by a new death experience or at least some sort of traumatic event that may have put their life in danger.
I've been thinking about this thread a lot. Not so much the title, but the OP asking about sharing it with a lot of other people. I've been pretty reluctant to encourage anyone to use DMT. I have no problem encouraging LSD or similar stuff to people who have used them in the past, but I think DMT is a big step. I had a bunch of fully ecstatic trips at first. With incredible joy and awe at what I was experience/had just experienced. I smoked at least a gram in about a month period. After a while, I had a few scary trips, and at least two where I was sure that I died. Really convinced of it; it wasn't a question. A few that I had to wait out in an unpleasant state....like someone on these forums mentioned once, it was like my brain crashed. On the death ones, luckily slowly I would realize...."you just smoked DMT...there's no way it could kill you...if you were dead, you wouldn't be here thinking about being dead....wait it out." That being said, I've told a bunch of people it's something everyone should experience once in their life time...given some to a few people who still didn't try it. So, I'm on the fence about who and how to introduce people to it. Has it changed me? Not as much as LSD or other regular psychedelics (mesc cactus, shrooms, etc.) I'm not sure if that would be different if I tried DMT first. Could it be really scary for someone? Yes...for sure. It could be really really scary and make someone not want to ever try anything else. Turn them off of psychedelics completely if they weren't experienced. Would they be fine in 30 minutes? Probably. The memory might scare them though. I guess I can imaging a situation where someone had something similar to PTSD from a DMT trip if it was really really scary and they didn't have much experience with this type of thing. Here's another similar thread I came across recently: http://forums.mycotopia.net/polls/36468-has-dmt-changed-you.html Will I do it again? Definitely! Is it the most amazing thing I've ever experienced? Yes! Did I learn much concrete stuff from it? Not really...it doesn't apply to my ego centric reality. It's beyond that. Deeper than thought. What I mostly learned was pure awe and that there is much more to myself than what I normally see.
