Hey thanx in advance for your help. Everyone on this board is so cool & helpful.

My wife & I are travelling to Amsterdam in Dec. for the 2nd half of our honeymoon & while she has been before & I have not. So i have some questions.

    1st-coffee shops.
while i am no stranger to chiefing up, I have lots of questions regarding the cannabis.....

What is a good wake & bake strain & type of Hash? something that won't make me sit in a coffeshop all day sucked in too a couch (that is for later ;) ).

What is a good strain as a day-ender put me in a coma-like-dream state?

Also are all pre-made joints made with tobacco? (we dont smoke tobacco)

I pretty much have the shops in mind that we want to visit so I am cool on that front.

    2nd-weather
We are going on Dec. 13th. I know it is going to be cold, but how cold? we dont mind, we WERE going to go to NYC, so....
Is it going to piss rain everyday?

We were in Mexico that time last year & we love seeing how other cultures celebrate the holidays, so we are looking forward to the christmas decorations & such.

I will update this thread as I have more questions.

    Once again thanks in advance!!!!

Hash comes in two basic forms, Blond & Black. The darker the hash the bigger the hit and tends to knock you out more. Most popular is the lighter hash and also favoured by the locals. Personally I don't touch any solid cannabis (Hash) as the best stuff is in grass form (marijuana) such as the local Neder-weit. If you buy a ''Stickie'' (pre-rolled joint) it will be rolled with tobacco for sure so they can spread it out as much as possible.
Best stuff IMO is the HAZE, Super Silver Haze or White Widow, etc. The really deep trippy stuff for the end of the day try Black Dominia or Indian/Nepal cream hash.
Best place to score any Hash or Marijuana in A'dam is the Greenhouse (just opposite the Marijuana museum).
Hope that helps, but I don't recommend buying pre-rolled joints though for many reasons.

    Thanx guys!

another question.......Can you smoke in clubs? say we go to see some live music or a DJ at a dance club...we will be able to smoke? Will it be obvious where you CAN & CANT smoke?

    TIA!

Some places make pre-rolled joints without tobacco. They have a descriptive word for it but i cant remember. It could be doobie or something. At Hunters Point or Pub ( i forget now - i think its named after a london tube stop) i remember they had both kinds of pre-rolled, with or without, but to be sure you gotta ask the dude behind the counter.

At this other place near the dam, the guy had to roll them for you so he'd make them as you wish.

Rent a bike. It rocks. Amsterdam with all its bridges and canals is a long freakin walk even though its small.. But on a bike its a piece of space cake. Besides you can roll a blunt and smoke as you ride.

I like to buy a knip kaart or is it pin kaart at the money changers at the airport. The reason is becuase the public phones dont take change. The only ones i know of that do are at Central Station. Now if you got your european cell phone on you, no worries....

its also usable at supermarkets, train ticket selling machines and other places, like an ATM card, only its prepaid.

The best coffeeshop IMO is Amnesia, just ask the dealer about sativas for the up high feel or Indicas for the end of the day couch-lock smoke..As a non tobacco smoker just ask for a 'pure pre rolled' or you can even ask the dealer to roll a dutch style cone if he/she isn't busy just make sure you give him/her a little tip for doing it..Hashes are a funny thing as to smoke them in a joint you need something else in there to keep it going, either weed or tobacco a couple of good coffeeshops for hash are Bluebird and Tweede Kamer (The latter being the sister shop of De Dampkring - but I prefer the Tweede as its a lot more personal and more of a local feel).

    Jon :)

Yes I had heard something like that but I thought it was an owner of a different coffeeshop...the owner Sissy (SP?) is a really nice lady and the dealer with the dreds is the best I have met in Amsterdam :)

Don't expect it to be obvious. I have smoked in most of the nice Amsterdam clubs without a single problem. Bigger joints like Melkweg and Paradiso: no problem there for sure. If you're not sure, simply ask. As easy as that :)

Most iceolater hash is energetic--but pricey-blonder and lighter colored hash will also get you going-Black hashs like-afghan and manila cream are sleep inducers--also nepalese temple balls will put you in dreamland. Many of the joints are rolled with tobacco--but many places will roll one on request.

thanks for the replies. now I think I am straight on the dozzia tip.

    other questions......

are there any markets (flea markets, produce, etc...) in the winter? if so where?

also....what is the best way to experience the local flavor? we like to get off of the beaten path, if you know what I mean.

    Thanks again!
