What is the law regarding growing marijuana in Canada? Do you need a medical card? Is it legal? What's up?
It's Illegal, the punishment is pretty light though. A lot of my dads friends grow, If your going to grow in a country were weed is illegal Canada is the place to do it.
Alot of the times you can prove it's for personal use if you get caught and have the criminal charges dropped.
One of the biggest reasons why i am moving to canada in the next few years: the marijuana laws are light as hell.
Hopefully we can vote the conservative government out of power in the upcoming election. GOo NDP! Or at least liberals but fuck the conservatives.
DAMN RIGHT!!!! NDP are where its at Jack Layton is the man... But yea on this topic its illegal but i know about 5 ppl who gorw one who even got caught and is growing again thats how lax it is
yay for canada! im not sure on the specific laws, just search around on the gc.ca site a bit and youll find the criminal codes. but in most places, this is what happens: minor possession (under 5-10 grams): most cops let you off. otherwise youll likely get a fine. also they take any weed/paraphenalia away possession for trafficing (oz or more): charges, possibility of jailtimes or community services personal growing (6 plants or under approx): usually a fine, especially if you can lessen it growing to traffic (lots of plants); jailtime (duh) obviously i have no real clue what the specific numbers or weights are, the above are approximations rom what ive heard from others. DO NOT ACTUALLY THINK I AM CORRECT, THEY ARE SPECULATIVE still, very light wrist-slap compared to other countries
The laws are pretty lax but from what I've heard almost all the cities have cops who don't really care either...lazy bastards. Not necessarily a bad thing though
when my mom went to vancouver she said that EVERY1 was smoking it so then im like 0_0.....we're gonna be moving there in a few years too
reading over some canadian laws, i noticed this neat tidbit: "SCHEDULE II 1. Cannabis, its preparations, derivatives and similar synthetic preparations, including: ... .... ... But not including (9) Mature Cannabis stalks that do not include leaves, flowers, seeds or branches; and fiber derived from such stalks" does that mean if i strip everything off of my stalks at harvest, i can run around town with a great-smelling, LEGAL stick?
I think canada just has generally altogether better people than the US. most people are friendly and for liberal ppl, there are plenty of like-minded individuals. im moving there, theres no doubt about it
