Most of them? I don't buy that. I know dozens of people from high school who enlisted and I can only think of one who was itching to shoot/kill somebody. And some of them NEED that measly help. For folks that I grew up with it was the only opportunity for some of them.
well sorry for the generalization. WTF? You think people need the help of the military and government? That is an illusion orchestrated by this machine. If they weren't around people would find their way. this is disgusting.
Yes, I think there are people who NEED the help. I know people who never would've enlisted otherwise. If they had rich families, great athletic skills, great smarts, etc they wouldn't be interested in a GI Bill or hands on training etc. Without the military my brother would've had virtually nothing. Now he's on his way to becoming a journeyman electrician, is in college, and is going to get paid via the GI Bill for doing an electricians apprenticeship that he'll be getting paid for. For those who are underprivileged or flat out destitute, many of them NEED the assistance and the "jump start" in life. Do I appreciate that my brother was preyed on for those very reasons? No. Am I glad he's getting the assistance, yes.
Or stability... or the promise of a better tomorrow. Many of the ones I know who enlisted truly believed they were enlisting to help keep the world safe and to protect their fellow Americans. Not sure where you guys live, but 'round my way many people believe it is the duty of everybody to enlist and serve their country. And most of them are simple people. I'm sure it's not the same across the board, but from what I've seen these kids are preyed on and bought on promises of a brighter future.
And you think you live the life of a Bodhisattva with judgements like that? You sir are a fraud, and are the one who is pathetic. I hope a communist rapes your family and burns them alive. Edit: I love how you fail to back anything you state and just throw around judgment all day. It's quite amuzing. Though I still hope your family is ass raped while you're forced to watch.
You don't have to sell your soul to a government that doesn't consider you anything more than a number to achieve stability. There are many people who had less and became more than those you have mentioned, without enlisting in the military.
bodhisattva's are reincarnations of buddhas, or something along those lines I'm just a monkey where did you get that assumption? and gosh, you're awfully mean. a communist? LMFAO
And there are many people who had more and became far less without enlisting in the military. So what is the point you are making? That since some people don't need the help nobody needs it? That's quite stupid, really. Just like some poor people make it big without enlisting other poor people wind up dead or in jail without the military. If you grow up around those who wind up dead and in jail, what's the difference in joining the military other than you get added benefits for your life being on the line. Since I've graduated high school, over a dozen of my friends and family members have enlisted. The majority of them served in Iraq. Since I have graduated 5 of my friends are dead. Since I have graduated ONE of those friends died serving in the military. Do the math.....
p.s. I'm not living the life of a bodhisattva I'm living the life of a human being in America. I know damn well humans don't need help from their government, or military. That is an illusion orchestrated by them! I feel sorry for you, and your brother, who think otherwise. So many people are locked into the machine. They have you guys by the neck!! I can talk all the shit I want to...being a human and all....
You can talk all the shit you want BEING ON HIPFORUMS AND ALL. I can assure you that you would not so boldly stand in front of my brother and talk such garbage. Feel bad for me all you will. In 2 years my brother will be home. He will have an associates degree and be permitted into the apprenticeship program at the local 725 union, which is a paying job, and will be paid via the GI Bill for 'schooling/training'. He'll have learned discipline and an appreciation for life that he didn't have before. I love how brave people are online. It's cute.
did the life or death of any of these 5 deceased friends really make a difference to the goverment they were serving? what was gained by the loss of these lives? freedom? security? what?
brave? I'm passionate. And yeah, I talk to people who are as brainwashed as you are, man. And it usually ends up into talking shit because people, like you, get so defensive when their precious beliefs are attacked.
