    A bit I suppose.

I was in choir, played piano for years, played the traversal flute in high school, did plays and all that. I had a singing solo once. I'm out of practice though.

I'm failing compared to how I was in even 4th grade, although tenth grade was my peak.

My mom eats, sleeps and breathes music and I remember when she used to baby sit us with these weird kid flutes at like age six learning to read music and play.

I still like to get my instruments out now n then and I can still do the full scale on my primary instrument (flute) but I'm kinda sad... cause I used to be GOOD and I let it go.

I think I'm happy I have musical training but I wish I would have done more with it. But I'm glad I can still read music. ehhhh yeah whatever. just wish i woulda went with my talent more but i guess it's not too late...

Many of the greatest musicians could not read music. Reading music isn't that important.

i digress. until we are talking drums or guitar. i'd love someone to try to play the flute well without reading music.

anyways in a way i do agree. it's not everything, espiecially if you're on the experimental end of whatever instrument you use... but reading music is actually pretty important if you want to perform music and it's not all just your freestyle.

I really want to pick up a harmonica in C and a book on how to learn to play. I think I could pick it up easily, and I'd love to just try it.

yeah as far as i know there are no backwards swoops like that n other fallacies. that's why its funny though. its relavant though cause when you get deeper n deeper in to playing music you run into symphanies that are mad crazy hard and kinda look like that... but it's obviously a joke n it's funny :D:hat:

Yes, though standard diatonic notation is quite antiquated. I just convert it to my own system.

the instruments i can do... flute n piccalo n bass flute first n foremost my strengths. i was also forced to do trumbone (gag... so heavy) in grade 11, ummm lil bit of violin, lil bit of the rest too..piano, guitar, drums (thank you brother)

i feel like i am missing something though. im sure ill remember it after i send this. lol.

I think the trombone is cool. In French, the word "trombone" is used to mean a paperclip.

It's cheap to play the harmonica, and I'd love to pick up a book and learn.

I particulaly like the bottom right corner, with the clutter of notes and symbols...

and then above it all, it says "Light and Airy" :D

    lmao

but seriously i think its funny (no offense matt) when ppl say you dont need to read music to be talented musically.
maybe if yer singing or drumming but as far as i know... yeah free style all you want but you NEED to be able to read music to realllly be good at it. unless you're one of those fluxes with extreme talent or a gift from god. most of us regular humans need to read music to succeed in music.
