Got in a car accident this morning on the way to school. Some guy pulled infront of me and pretty much stopped while there was a green light, it was wet and i tried to slow down and slid into the back of him. The woman in the car behind me tried to do the same and hit me from behind. Fucking cop gave me and the woman behind careless driving charges which are $375 tickets and 6 demerit points. The guy in the front got NO CHARGES and it was entirely his fault, I wasn't driving any faster than he was and there was plenty of room between me and him. Now I have to get up at 5:30 to bus to school to make it there for 8 because the bus service here is so terrible. So....4 hour daily commutes on top of a few hours of school...fuck my life man. The cop was a huge prick too which I will be reporting. My car got towed and is going to be written off since both the airbags popped. So I had no way home and this asshole didn't even offer me a drive he said "can you call your family or call a cab"? Yea buddy I really wanna spend $20 ona cab after you fucking give me a $375 ticket.... SO anyways my life is in a mess right now and I hate cops more than ever.
A scenario like this happened to me exept the person in front of me rear ended the person in front of her then put her car in reverse paniced and smashed into my front end.. like wtf... Luckily there happened to be a cop who was watching the entire thing cuz she tried to pass it off like i rear ended her and made here rear end the person in front of her... that was fucked up
ANYTIME you hit someone from behind its your fault.. period.. had nothing to do with the cop. had to do with the fact you hit someone in the ass.. had there been a impartial witness to say he cut in front of you and stopped it MAY have helped you but generally not.. its just the way it is...
We have a witness, a firefighter too. So hopefully when I take this to court I can use his statement. And no he didnt have aviators he looked like a bitch though....I hate cops even more after this incident, bunch of power tripping douchebags. Do they even have minds?
If you were a safe distance behind him and not going any faster than he was then why couldn't you stop on time? You should have considered the conditions and made a bigger distance between the two of you. So yes, it is your fault whether the guy stopping at a green light is a dumb ass or not you should have been able to stop too. Edit: Cops can't give tickets out to people for being stupid or else they would go through thousands of tickets a day, lol.
It was your fault. The cop was only doing his job. You ran into the car ahead of you. You should have been maintaining a safe following distance, which is 2 car lengths for every 20kph you are traveling in ideal weather conditions. Since it was raining, you should have increased this distance and driven a little slower. If you had of been following these proper rules of the road, none of this would have happened. And just because the light was green, doesn't mean you can always go. You have to wait for the car ahead of you to go.
Bingo, even if the person in front of you just decides to randomly stop while on the highway, they're always given the benefit of the doubt since it is assumed everyone is supposed to be looking in front of them.
He cut me off and stopped not much I could do. Anyways I'll post a pic of waht happened but I'll keep getting responses like that telling me what I was doing was wrong when there was nothing I could have done in that situation. The fuck cops part is because he was a douchebag; he listened to country, he didn't offer me a drive home, and he lied to us saying he drives 40 down that road when its a 70 speed limit. I also noticed he idled his engine the whole time he was stopped there, yet they show commercials on tv saying "idleing for 15 seconds takes more fuel than starting the car".
heh, the all mighty god of driving is gonna spurt out knowledge he just learn this year? A light rain can bring oil to the surface of a road. You hit your breaks, your gonna slide. Doesn't matter if your 2 or 15 car lengths away.
Someone on the highway changed lanes without looking to the lane left of them while my buddy was next to them, he hit the brakes but still got clipped by the right rear bumper of the person who wasn't paying attention, mt friend got a following too closely ticket. Some laws just don't work in all cases or at all for some of them.
He shouldn't of had to hit his breaks, he should have started breaking when he saw the guy in front of him start breaking. Obviously I don't know what really happened since I wasn't there, but even if the guy in front him hit his breaks hard, which I doubt since he didn't say that he was stopping quickly because an animal ran in front of him or anything, then he should've seen that he did that and hit his breaks too and if he was a safe distance away from him, after considering the conditions, then he should've been fine. Maybe he was a safe distance away and just didn't break soon enough which he should have done, but again I wasn't there. No matter what, if you hit the person in front of you then it's your fault.
