    Probably not.

As I watched Palin's interview last night and I heard the prayer that we be protected and that hopefully we were doing the right thing according to God's will....I was so angry that anyone could profess God in the government when they are bought by corporations. How can people be so very hypocritical!

jack-a-roe, you are so right. the high profile, drama known as politics is nothing more than a stage show being played out for us to make us beleive that we are still in control. It makes no difference which of these puppets gets ellected, the strings still go to the same hand.
Buy the way, there never has been a "separation of church and state" what the constitution clearly outlines is a separation of state from church. big difference.

Whenever money changes from one hand to the other be it church or state under Bush's Christian innitiatives there is room for betrayal for those 30 pieces of gold.

Well, we focus more on Old Testament laws, not Jewish philosophies or values. It seems like the more religious a politician claims to be, the less they follow the teachings Christ actually taught...

Pretending to act according to God's will distracts many people from the real issues...people feel she's acting under a higher authority that they do trust. Religion doesn't have to be the opiate of the masses, but it usually does have that effect when it's brought into politics.

between the US discussing war with russia, this, and all kinds of other crap, heading to the hills with a rifle, ammo and some basic tools looks like a better idea by the day.

I didn't think McCain could lift his arms above his head.

Why is it bullshit that every US president in history has not been Agnostic?

Gauging how many of them lived their personal lives and carried out the business of government...I'd say you are probably right. Most of them certainly didn't demonstrate true Christian values.

I think JY was saying that it is bullshit that the president needs to be Christian, his agnostic remark i imagine is in regard to what faith a president should have if any. (i could be wrong about the 'if any' bit though).

With an estimated 78% of Americans being of Christian faith, one would presume that at least a majority would prefer a president of Christian faith.
