what's orange and red and looks good on a hippie? * * * * * * * * * * * * fire. everyone in the studio laughed at it too. i think it's sick! :toetap05:
Well it is funny. Hey if you're a hippy the first you learn to do is laugh at yourself. Good for the soul don't ya know. Peace
actually no, it's not funny. at least i don't think so. i wonder if they'd laugh if i substituted the word 'redneck' for the word 'hippie'. is implied violence an acceptable form of humor from hippies?
Implied violence hurts no one. It can only hurt you if you let it. Laugh it off. Hippies love to laugh. Keeps the heart and mind young. Life is short. Find humor in everything you can. Remember action speaks louder than words. Never let words anger you. Peace
I happen to find the standard slew of Deadhead jokes funny. Pathetic that the DJs have to resort to using jokes that probably started with a racial element on a subculture, but it IS free speech.
i don't care, it still pisses me off, lol. i think this is funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NBlDfLDHdM&feature=related
there's a lot of media against hippies that's broadcasted all over the place. It's weird......... people just need something to hate. something they can deem inferior. sick-o's..........
Maybe that's because it's the only way they can assure their egos that they aren't inferior themselves. Living for the ego can be terrible.
I think thats exactly why people do that. They try to point out someone different, no matter what different may mean to them, and think that more people will agree that that person is inferior, so they can pretend they are not as bad as they usually are.
I think most of them would. Not everyone takes a joke about the subculture they fit in so personal. And yes, generally every sort of humor is acceptable for hippies in my opinion. It depends on the individual, not on the stereotype, subculture, label etc.
NO!!! There is no humour in that joke at all. It is a racist piece of shit as far as I'm concerned. What I would have done was phoned that radio station and voiced my displeasure and I probably would have written a letter to the editor of the local newspaper. I don't think alot of people realize how much hatred there really is directed towards hippies. Eric Cartman might be a fictional character but his hatred towards hippies is very widespread. Hippies are blamed for the loss in VietNam and the open acceptance of gays ,blacks and liberal attitudes. . Hippies and liberals are the same in many peoples eyes and this form of hatred isn't any different than the hatred witnessed before world war II started. My parents lived during that time and the jokes that they told about Jews and gypsies and blacks are no different than the one that you heard. Nothing has changed: there is the same amount of intolerance as ever. And now to top it off , we have Sarah with a gun as our new hot liberator. PAX
I suspect they would enjoy that to be honest. Reacting angrily to these jokes fuels them, and empowers the kinds of mentality that creates them. They are trying to offend. If you react, that is just another target hit. And trying to silence them just drives them underground, and perpetuates their sense of victimisation from the target, and thus makes them feel "justified" in striking back with more jokes... long story short. Don't waste your life getting offended by this stuff dude. You aren't going to get that time back. Would you take five minutes on your deathbed to phone a radio show and complain? It amounts to the same
Since when are hippies a race? And maybe there is no humor in this joke, but that's not the point. Harmless jokes can be humourless as well . Just as some racist jokes even can be funny indeed. Not every joke about a race is ment to be offensive. Even hippies can make them.
no, i really don't think it's acceptable at all. i think it invokes violence and says it's okay to be violent towards whatever group you're making the 'joke' about.
