first time grower planning an indoor stealth grow in my attic. so far i bought two 150 watt indoor flood bulbs and a 54 gallon rubbermaid storage bin that measures 42.5x21.5x18.6in. i have a couple questions. Im pretty sure the bulb configuration is ok but would like a second oppinion. How many plants should i try to fit in this area? i was originally thinking two. since the harvest would be mostly for myself. but if i go more i might need more light? my mom is seriously a hound. she smells anything. my attic has a vent in the wall going outside for the ducts or something and i plan to redirect a fan going out that window. will it be sufficient to keep the smell from permeating through the house? ill probably add some odor pads too. my biggest problem is the height of the container. i suppose i could raise the lid another foot or more and just seal it with plastic and tin foil, but im sure id have some problems with that. from what i understand, i can keep the plants short by cutting and cloning them before flowering. does anyone have a link that explains the process. think im prepared? any advice you have would be great. maybe things i need to buy or things i might need to know more about. THANKS GUYS
Attic grows are tough to control the temperature. Too cold (under 50F) and growth is very slow.. too hot and you'll be up there watering daily wasting nutrients and slow growth. Anyhow.. re: your bulbs. Go return them. What you want are Compact Floros. Flood lights will just burn your plants. Also, make sure you get CFL bulbs that are either 2700K or 6400K color temp. Most "daylight" CFL bulbs will work. In that little tub you could probably put a couple small plants.. however you'd probably be more benefitted from an autoflowering strain as they stay very short, and can yield up to an OZ even under CFL bulbs.
