I started my dreads the all natural way 3 months ago when my hair was about 5 inches long, maybe a lil longer on top. For two months I kept a hat on because my hair looked like a bird's nest. Now I have dreads all over my head and they knotted like crazy. These are two pictures of me right after waking up. you can't really tell I have dreads in the second one, it sorta looks like the jewfro I used to wear atop my head.
really nice are u seperating em enough? they look like they might try eatting eachorther but other then that theyre doing great and will liik amazing ad s they grow in and gain length.. mine looked alot like that only lil thinner and stickin out lil more
I play with my dreads so much that they stay seperated. But EVery morning I wake up and two or three of them are hugging. It's been about a week since those pics were taken and I've crossed a point in the dread time line where my dreads are felling like ropes instead of just strands of hair and they get tighter and the ropey part gets longer every time I wash. I had head of dreads in high school, but I used the wax and shit from dreadheadHQ. They came out awesome after 6 months, but I cut 'em because they were gross and I got arrested(woops!). My hair may look whacked out every day of the week for months, but I know I'll miss this stage when they get long. So, I'm enjoying every minute of it and the whole control aspect pretty much dissolves. Everyone is gonna be pretty jealous of my awesome natural dreads in about a year. Keep it real, Soaring Eagle.
a year? come back in 2 to 3 months and lets seethe progressbyt then theyre alreadyt takin in great shape and forming well theyre definately starting to cross that threshoild into real dreads.. wont be long now till theyre there i bet by the 6 month opiont you'll have impressive progress and you';l love every minute of it dont ya just love sbandoning the need to constsntly controll your hair?
They look really awesome My hairs are about that long too, though not so curly, so I've got some dreads forming but they're very tiny and the rest is mostly loose. Yours look brilliant and I love the jewfro too
At four months they are starting to feel like 2-5 inch ropes. THere are a few spots with really lose dreads, but whatevs. I've kinda stopped playing and fidgeting with them and so they've taken on more curls at the ends and I'm diggin every second of it. the old ladies at work ask me why i wear a hat even when its soo hot inside and i show them my mess of hair. one of them says "oh my, did you think it was just too curly?" another says "grumble grumble, you and my son in law." i got a real kick outta that one.
