    3 years.

The first 2 years were constructive, I felt.

She puts it at 1 year. Probably because by then she had assumed the role of the giver in our dynamic, and I, the taker. [IMG]

wow after reading this whole thread it seems very few people have understood the fact its not about wanting a job, or wanting to come to the US or even about wanting an education. Its about wanting a boy.
    ohh the drama
Maby its life telling you that you are pursuing things for the wrong reasons and its time to take a new direction in life.

Praxis...shudders. That would be hard to get past.

I've my issues too. i can be highly critical and take my shit out on my mate. But he and I completely have freedom to do what we want. If he feels I am saying no about something, he does it anyway. If I feel he has a problem with something, I don't do it but will make him go through hell for having misunderstood my intentions.

Its been 3 years for us and we grow closer all the time. Trusting one another more and more and letting go of any insecurity.

I DO NOT TAKE BEING BOXED IN WELL! Was she highly insecure?

Here's an idea: Get a job, go to school in France, and quit bitching. It kinda sounds like you only want to go back so A. you can see your bf and friends and B. so you don't have to work. That only lasts for so long.

Everyone experiences what we would define as the "bad" feelings of "suffering" at some point in time one way or another. Hence the conception of the ying yang. Both good and bad must coexists in order for there to be either. It's almost not even as though they "must" coexist, so much as it is the fact that they simply do and there's no denying that. So, if they are both opposites but simultaneously exist throughout our existence, we have the ability to look at any given situation and interpret it as one or the other. Sure, at first glance not having money for school appears to be a "bad" thing, but often when we are forced to change we evolve according to how we handle the situation and how we handle the situation depends on how we view it. You undoubtedly think (or so it seems) that this is a "bad" situation you are in, and if you continue to look at it like that then yes it will be bad and perhaps even get worse. However if you look at it as a chance to grow (evolve) and venture into different possibilities that life offers it can indeed be "good".

The only thing my dad's ever really said to me that I took to heart was something along the lines of:

We all experience suffering and happiness. It's how we react to the suffering that makes us who we are. The hard times form "us" more than any other times we will know so long as we are human.

Because of this, if we react positively to whatever it is that causes the suffering in our life then we in turn have created our own state of happiness.

    On a side note....
We have a saying in the city I'm from that we put on shirts etc...

    Eugene (name of the city)
We're all here because we're not all there.

awwww....well that is not a good combination in the least.

I love that saying. it is so true. I felt like moving from Maryland to North Carlina would create this magical change within me. And it did at first until I had to start really dealing with me. Because I was still the same Marie I had before...with the same annoyances and impatients. I had to work on portions of that and still do....just so that I could be a healthy partner.

Moliere's Don Juan is a book about me.

Every thought from that character has crossed my head at some point or another.

I just need lots of attention from multiple women to feel average!

And she picked up on that. [IMG]

So that doesn't sound like you are insecure so much as you are not someone who wants monogamy. Oh....or is it that only have one person to show you attraction makes you feel a bit like you are not worth paying attention to?

Sorry, I ask alot of questions.

    You got it. ;)

Don Juan had 1000 women because he felt he couldn't be completely loved by one. [IMG]

Or do the Hannibal Lecter thing (you know what he did in the ambulance) with Hugh Hefner to pose as him and bang all of his 17 IQ gold digging whores he hides in his closet to show off every now and than.
