Society is way more trippy than it used to be.

Think back to the 50's and prior. Think of writings from then, television, cars, music, everything... Now think of the late 60's early 70's, then think of the present.

When did society change into a much more psychedelic atmosphere than there used to be? What caused this strange phenomena of change?

Perhaps, technology had everything to do with it, special effects, color video, etc. But does anyone think drugs may have had a play in it? Did the Acid culture inevitably change Society as a whole, at the very least visually?

Nowadays anything from billboards, to energy drinks, to shows like Spongebob, to even technological advancements seem to have a bit of psychedelic feel to it.

Anyone else seem to notice this?

  3. But, on your topic, ever since I got my first taste of acid, I began to realize where 'all this' came from..but the question is, where will it lead?

I've noticed this watching tv, ive often thourght that only a person who has taken drugs could have created such things. things such as trippy adverts or tv shows, im wondering if the tv producers are all tanning acid on a regular basis.

Oh yea you better believe that the people making TV and spitting out all the different technologies have taken some sort of drugs. LSD? Mushrooms? I like to think that part of the creative process is getting 5-10 writers to take some drugs and stick them in a room for 12 hours.. and see what comes out.

Seriously, LOL, no seriously for a minute, have you ever seen some of the cartoons from yesterday? how about the stuff on TV for kids today? I think it's the trippiest stuff i've ever scene!

I know for sure some of the newer visual technologies you see at concerts and festivals and places like that come from people that have been there and have been in some form of altered consciousness.

I just came back from Burning Man and a lot of people partiying and on drugs there that have some big time development and creative jobs. Awesome place to go... home.

I've seen some trippy random commercials lately, like even from Comcast

I imagine the room-full-of-writers-dropping-acid technique gets a lot of play for the shows on Adult Swim, especially Robot Chicken

The only way is to test it.....Sit down with a few good buddies, trip out real far and write/draw what you see...you'll be amazed what you forget and all the different tangents you go off on

Yeah the comcast ones scare me, they remind me of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. (Their mono-repetitive tones!) I know you've tripped!!

Also Seth Green, and his buddies definitely have their psychedelic hookup, you can be guaranteed that sh*t is certified!

Each tv writer is an artist of their own kind. An artist is an instrument through which the universe paints itself.

But tv is ruining the imaginations of kids. It seems like the only inspiration kids get, is from tv.
