what's the cheapest you've seen the price of gasoline in your lifetime?

I'm 50. I remember stations having 'gas wars'. 25 cents a gallon. Right after high school, I worked at a gas station. Gas was 69 cents a gallon, and cigarettes were 43 cents a pack.

 

Here's actual proof; 59 cents for regular, and 62 cents for premium

i believe $1.50 is about the cheapest i've ever seen it. But I only started paying attention a few years ago. Ah, i'm a youngin.

I think the lowest was about 10 years ago....for 99 cent a gallon. Ah...those were the days.

 

When I first started driving, I think it was around $1.09. I think I've def. seen it lower though (I'm 22 yrs old).

 

I remember when gas was just under $1.00 for a long time. 93 .98 when it got to $1.03 it had gone up.

I would not buy cars or trucks unless they had V8s haha now we run little tiny 4cyls.

 

i had a friend when i was a young kid living in minnesota, whose dad own a service station. gasoline was $0.15 a gallion back in 1962.

 

i remember when i was little it used to be between 79 and 89 cents...
shoot now we have to wait in line for gas at $4 a gallon...

 

$0.89 cents back in 1997 before I came home from the military. ;P

i think around 80 cents

but then again i never paid attention to gas prices until i owned a car

18¢ a pack for cigarettes - - two dimes into the vending machine - - out comes a pack of Camels or Luckies with two pennies under the cellophane.

 

Remember when gas was $4.00? That was sweeeet... Here its 1.98 and thats the lowest I've seen in a long while.

 

I can remember 35 cents a gallon.

The station used to wash your windshield and fill the tires for free. Now you have to pay for the air you pump yourself from a coin-operated machine.
