I'm 50. I remember stations having 'gas wars'. 25 cents a gallon. Right after high school, I worked at a gas station. Gas was 69 cents a gallon, and cigarettes were 43 cents a pack.

I remember when gas was just under $1.00 for a long time. 93 .98 when it got to $1.03 it had gone up.

I would not buy cars or trucks unless they had V8s haha now we run little tiny 4cyls.

    18¢ a gallon for gas.
18¢ a pack for cigarettes - - two dimes into the vending machine - - out comes a pack of Camels or Luckies with two pennies under the cellophane.

The station used to wash your windshield and fill the tires for free. Now you have to pay for the air you pump yourself from a coin-operated machine. :(
