I looked at the date of when they were gonna do it and then realized thats tomorrow.

 

yeah but a scientist said it will take a couple yrs to know if the earth will be destroyed. I dont know I cant really comment on it since I am no expert in Particle Physics.

 

I am very excited about this. The speeds at which this accelerator runs is mind boggling. I think it's like 7 miles revolution, at 50,000 times per second? Jesus.

I'm sure if there was even a remote possibility of this experiment entirely destroying the planet, they wouldn't attempt it, or even be allowed to attempt it.

yea i actually beleive that december 21st thing... the mayans originally came up with the idea, The same people who made made the clock that hundreds of years later is almost perfectly on the right date and time (30 seconds off) predating any other efforts to do this.. thats why i beleive.. if they can do that they can predict the end of the world imo... as far as iv heard theres a 1 in 50 billion chance that it could create a black hole...if that happens we're all fucked

 

And thats not even the least of our worries... There are three other scenarios that are way more likely to happen and way more destructive... Its stupid shit theyre pullin

Btw not correct.. they are ALLOWED to do it as the information gained outweighs the consequences of performing the experiment... So if the chance that shit will be fucked up is small enough they're allowed to do it

just read all of that on cracked....im actually scared...i know that there really isnt that much chance of a lot of that happening, science is a crazy thing to mess with though and I just dont think we know enough about the world to be messing with things like the Large Hadron Collider

Smashing atoms together is how we found out pretty much everything we know about sub atomic particles currently. I hope they find some mind boggling shit.

 

That's not exactly true, because the calculations determine that even if micro black holes were to be created within the LHC, they would decay almost instantly. Besides that, the current Standard Model predicts that the LHC is not powerful enough to create a micro black hole.

 

Me too. They are looking to find the remains of the theoretical Higgs boson, also called the God particle, popping into and out of existence within fractions of a second. If they dont find it, get ready for a massive shift of revolution within the scientific community, because that will mean the particle phsyics are wrong.

they ARE allowed to do it, so the chances of the world being sucked into an destructive black hole of nothingness must be infinitesimally small.
