Yeah....you see, my rules and the "oppressors" rules are the same, so...yeah. I'm fine with it. I like having clothes. I don't want to bring Babylon down either. It's a nice place.

why doesn't backcombing speed up the process of dreading?
doesn't it knot the hair up to speed up the dreading?

most backcombing loosens up or falls completelyuy out before the drewading really begins
and wether u backcomb ir do natural 6 months down the road your basicly at the same place anyway it only makes u believe its faster because of imediatly looking like its done something but its still just backcombed hair that will have to dread on its own anyway..which still takes the same amount of time to really mature and tighten inti reakl dreads
the speeding up os largely an illusion and in the meantime it does alot of dammage

When I had mine backcombed they loosened up a little, but never completely fell out and I didn't really even have much loose hair to deal with at all. I've seen people that have gone natural, still with loose hair that hasn't dreaded a year later. I think without a doubt that backcombed dreads mature faster and have seen it first hand with people that have started with a myriad of different methods.

if thgat were true then why does the average backcombed dready continue working on theyres several hours a week or even a couplke hours a day month agyrer month becomming frustrated with every loose hair then resorting to crochetting or other methids?
    pakm rolling daily
    root rubbing
    u name it?
if backcombing really helped em mature faster they'd be able to backcomb onvce and nevdr worry aboiuyt them again and we wouldnt have thouydsands of help my dreads are_____ threads all over
like help i see thoisands of roots pulled out after backcombiung what can ui do about the ugly white roots sticking out all oiver the base of my dreads
ot omg help the roots have an inch of undreaded hair im pannicking
or like the ones who wanna start over cause a few sections uinraveled

look arounfd 90% of the help my dreads are____ threads are backcombed most of the natural dreads that create threads are just to show off theyre dreads or to give usefuil advice very very few are in need of help or advice
in facvt the only 1 i remember was 1 that never rippied so he was congoing outtra control
other thgen yjat i can think of very very few help my dreads are ____ threads from natural dreadies

I would say the majority of posts are about problems with backcombed hair, because on average those that choose this method are starting closer to something that resembles real dreads...thus anything out of place seems like something went wrong. The whole time I had my locks a couple years ago, I only had one area where I had loose hair that had to be balled up into a nearby dread...that's it! I have much respect for those that choose the natural method, but have been annoyed by some natural dreadheads that want to be all elitist about their goddamn hair (not saying anyone here is necessarily acting like that, but we all know a dreadhead snob or two). In my experience, I just had my hair backcombed once and let them be...5.5 months later they were pretty tight, save maybe 20 percent of each dread...I think that natural dreads are more maintenance if you want to put back the loose hair...it'll dread eventually, but who knows when, if ever. Practically speaking, backcombing has its benefits. It's not about the best method of dreading...it's what's best for you as a person...:cheers2:

natural is less maintanance because u dont worry abiyt every stray hair u trust em to find a plsace to be and u dont care if they arent all perfect

Worrying about every stray hair finding its place would be a subjective thing, regardless of method.

not really theres a lesson to be learned by the natural process that isnt learned sas easiuly by unnatural meandss eventualy if the dreads last ling enough you get it but it could take years
by going natural you get it from the start the day you find your 1st dread on ...
