I bought baking soda, orange oil, lemon juice and a shower cap :) I am trying to decide if I should

A: Make a concoction of all three ingredients and apply it to my head and let it sit for 30min. Then lay on the counter while my hubby pours boiling water over the length of my hair.

    Or...

B: Put orange oil in boiling water and apply it that way, then later scrub my hair with baking soda and lemon juice.

Whatcha think? And any recco's on ratios for measuring, even if it's ballpark would be greatly appreciated. :cheers2:

Okay my kids are asleep and I've got some time. I am just going to go with option A. If anyone jumps in after I've made put the mix on my head I'll just improvise my plans from there. Wish me luck!!!

Gettin there. I left the mix on my head for about 15min. That was as long as I could stand it. It was itching like CRAZY!! I felt like a rabid dog. Anyway, I actually scrubbed the shiate out of them by rubbing them against themselves and I rinsed them from root to tip one at a time in very hot water. Mind you these past two weeks I've been breaking each dread down individually and undoing twisted, braidy shit. Those twisted parts were the most covered in wax.

Just as a guesstimate I'll say that I used at least 6oz of wax on my hair before I learned better. So I am thinking that doing what I just did (the dewaxing) a couple more times and I'll be straight. My hair looks INCREDIBLY DIFFERENT!!! :)

Thanks again for everything you guys. I f'n love this forum!!

ETA: Oh, guess I have to add an update pic!! BRB

    googled 6 oz candle
this is how much wax ya had in there
im guessing if a dread caught fire it woul burn a good3 hours

i'm imagining the stiff neck id get from danglingthat candle on the end of a dread
myy dreads are hewavy as is i bet ya can really feel the weight difference just getting tha unk out

imagine if u continured hat trend a year
your dreads woul be more wax thgen hair
    maybe 3 pounds of wax

the idiot who did your dreads...call her.. or send amn email..
tell herexactl how huge of a mistajke she made and how badly she screwed u uop
u candemand your money backlif u want
but..pleasde with her to never suggest wax again
if shes a bitch and refuses...threatten totake her to court ad tell her if she continues these dangerouse practices she may get sued over and over
be clear that its not about the money its about saving other dreads frm making the same huge mitakes...and protecting her from future peoblems with angrdreadheads wanting to sue her or whatevcer
wax is soi prevcelanyt it has to be battled 1 user at a time and especialy it mysyt be cut off at the source..l 1 so called loctician at a time
