Start at Tribe.net with hulahoopers. if the page is out there, one of these folks has talked about it. That's what got me on you toube to begin with.
all i did at rocky grass was hula hoop. it was pretty much amazing. i had a blast. hula hooping in creeks is freaking hard tho. and then i tried hula hooping while playing guitar... it kinda worked for 5 seconds.. then it didnt anymore cuz my guitar was in the way. oh well. i had tons of fun.
hooping while photographing sorta works (I actually took front -page art for my paper while hooping so the kids would not act like a camera was out. They didn't notice it. The parents were all so impressed that I didn't get the usual "I don't want my kid's picture used" crap.

I actually seroiusly hurt myself hulahooping once. I tried to do it around my arm and it fractured my nose.
a broken nose is "serious?" that's a minor injury in the scheme of things (says the chica who got a concussion from someone hooping on a table in a dark bar, of the early SCI days)
Ok when its just a hula hoop a broken nose is serious. If your climbing a tree and broke a leg, thats serious. If you Hula hoop and break a leg, that's trememdous. See the status of an injury all has to do with how it happened. If I slam my face into the wall to see how long I can go with out passing out and break my nose it's no serious injury because I've said, Oh yea I mean you wanna slam your face into stuff u might break ur nose. No one says o yea if you hula hoop its fun but theirs always a danger of breaking your nose. Breaking your nose is an extremely rare injury when it protains exclussively to hula hooping and in turn a very serious injury. ...and of course everything I've just said is complete bullshit. The real reason it's serious is because I was seven and then when you stubbed your two it was a medical emergency so back then, yea breaking your nose totally sucked
don't buy, make one your self. its very easy. you can make 10 black hoops for 30 dollars with tubing from home depot. for color all you have to do is buy some colorful electrical tape. there are some how to videos on youtube for both making and taping.
