Sorry for stealing the name from an Erowid experience, but it seems to fit perfectly. Just tried DPT last week and it was nothing like I thought it would be. It was just my girlfriend (S) and I. We both took the same original dose, but I took more after twenty minutes and she didn't. T+0:00 - Snorted about 35-40 mg (Eyeballed off of 50mg, since I thought that might be too much) T+0:20 - No real effects yet so I took the rest, about 15-20mg. T+0:30 - Very restless but relaxed at the same time, just had the urge to grab something. T+0:45 - No big difference, so we decide to go outside to smoke a bowl. T+0:55 - Right in the middle of my fourth or fifth hit I realize that I was not just high on the pot, the DPT started kicking it. After that I pretty much lost track of time. I just know that time was going by very very very slowly. I had about no visuals at all. The only thing I saw was whenever the lights were off and I looked at S she looked very pale and had blue lips, like she was dead. I have no idea how to explain how it made everything seem. My brain seemed to be working fine, but I could tell I was not sober. Everything looked the same, but was somehow alien and different. It kept putting ideas in my head, mainly that drugs were not for fun. I didn't want to take this just for fun, but I know I wasn't in the perfect mood for it. That will be different next time. After all my ideas about life and random other things, S began to have a bad trip and was actually hallucinating spiders dropping on her and random things turning into spiders (She is very afraid of them). This was so horrible for me to sit and watch, because I couldn't make her feel better. I felt like it was my fault and that no one should have used this substance yet. Anyways we took it at about 1:00AM and were back to baseline at about 5:00-6:00AM when we fell asleep. Overall it was an experience which I can never forget, and taught me very valuable things about psychedelics. I just want to know why it didn't start kicking it until we smoked, since on Erowid and about everywhere else it seems to kick in around 10 minutes for them without anything.
That sucks dude it would freak me out if i thought my girl friend looked dead... If I had a girlfriend
That's shitty man. Do you have more? If so, when are you gonna try it again? I've always been interested in trying DPT. By the time I can afford to order some more RC's, I hope like hell my vendors are stocked with DPT and 2ce. I'd like to try the DPT by itself, at first, then in conjunction with the 2ce. That should be interesting
Yeah I have a decent amount left. There will definitely be more research in this chemical, just that one time taught me to be ready and truly want to learn before taking it.
I must admit there is the dark side of tripping. It's important to be careful with certain psychedelics. If it's any consolation, I never had a bad trip on 2c-i.
Yeah, bad trips are important and often teach you more about yourself than the "fun" trips I think..... Psychedelics aren't toys after all So Meretrix - you didn't encounter any bizarre alien landscapes or entities or anything? I haven't tried DPT yet but that part sounded interesting. I guess set and setting accounts for a lot though.. Was it painful to insufflate?
how is that any consolation unless you DID have a bad trip? lol ive only had one bad trip on 2ci, but i collected myself after a little while.
I've never had a bad trip, surprisingly enough. I can see how bad trips could be more beneficial than good/neutral trips.
@Toejam - No I didn't see any crazy alien landscape, but everything looking normal was completely alien to me. This seems like much more of a mental drug, which is what I want. Next time I will try a larger dose without any marijuana, and see how that goes. And it didn't hurt at all to snort it, it was an extremely fine powder. It tasted disgusting though. An extremely chemical taste to the drip..
I'm just saying what happened to me this time. I'm sure next time it will be more enjoyable, as I now have an idea of what this chemical is like.
DPT is so amazing, I'm very surprised to hear you had the experience you did. I don't really find it scary, but at times it can be a little difficult to turn over control to the DPT, as there is really no choice. You said it was not very visual... well for me DPT is extremely visual.. probably moreso than just about anything else outside of acid and DMT... Did you feel the DPT personality?
Everyone reacts differently to different things. It could have also been a weird time. I believe I did feel it and it has a much more serious tone than mushrooms or anything else similar, which is a nice change actually.
The alien encounters/landscapes and stuff you here about with DPT come with a combination of proper meditation, preparation, and a very and dark set with a comfortable setting. Also, it's going to take some time to learn how to get the most out of your DPT. You sorta need to practice with it to find the best way for you to get the most out of it and also for to find the perfect dose. Also, you might want to try a couple of solo trips. I've never been able to successfully "breakthrough" and get "way out there, man" unless I was alone, but that's just my personal experience and I'm sure you many have had no problems doing it with a partner or in group. DPT is a very intense psychedelic.
I have been learning about and beginning to practice mediation since about when I did DPT (Two weeks ago roughly), so hopefully that helps. And as for solo trips, the next few probably will be. It does seem like a very personal chemical to me. Being with someone just adds more factors that could make it go bad. Next time I believe I will be doing it by myself, but perhaps with a trip sitter. Probably up the dose a little bit also, not that much probably though.
