(If this ain't the right forum - Sorry, I couldn't find one more appropriate)

Just sitting here in tropical weather; hot muggy gusts of wind, overcast skies threatening to rain and the occasional drizzle. It was like this yesterday as well - only hotter. This is just the outer bands of weather of the very large Hurricane Gustav that missed a direct hit on Florida, and judging by how far away the storm is now these outter bands should be gone. It is really big.

Seems to be clearing here in South Florida as Gustav churns Northwest into the Gulf of Mexico, heading to New Orleans. They really don't need this, just hope the empty city stands well.

Gustav in the next three days

Now those of us in "Paradise" have to watch Tropical Storm Hanna, who will be a hurricane by the middle of next week and hasn't yet decided where it wants to go.

Hanna in the next five days

Hi Shale! I am new to this community of hippies, but it is definitely right for me. I'm having a problem tho' and it's trying to join the social groups. I want to join old hippies and the 420 groups. There really is no obvious link to
do this. I saw your post here and I saw you in the old hippies group, so I thought I'd ask you. Yeah, I am in paradise as well and we've been getting dumped on by all the passing storms. Anyway, I'd appreciate some guidance as to how to navigate my way around the place. Thanks bunches:), Irie!

Actually, I don't know that much about navigating these boards but I think guests have some limitations until a certain amount of posts. I bypassed a lot of that by donating to the site, becoming a supporter.

There is a FAQ somewhere here that will explain it.

I just discovered something by opening this post. That pic of Hannah from NOAA was lifted last weekend when the storm was going toward Miami. I just noticed that it has updated to the most current track. I thought I was just posting the pic at the time but apparently by lifting the NOAA gif it is still connected and working.

Where in S. FL are you?
