For those of you who have a PC or PC laptop and thus are at risk of getting a virus, what ultra-expensive antivirus do you have?

I used to have Norton.. but I couldn't pay for it this year.. so I got a free one, that works just as well, if not better, since my computer doesn't seem as slow.. Avira AntiVir.

When my laptop dies which is probably gonna be soon since it's been 3 years, I'm gonna get a mac.

i've mostly used avg. it's been acting like a virus itself since the last time i downloaded it though. gives me a bunch of nonsensical error messages, and about a week ago it spontaneously installed its toolbar into my browser while i was asleep and since then my internet has been working at less than half the speed it did before

Do you think I should use an anti-spyware too?

It finds a lot of stuff

I had a terrible pop up virus that wouldn't be fixed with the free spy ware programs so I ended up buying one

Macs are lovely. I have used macs since I first got a computer (maybe... 13 years ago? haha~) I have never looked back (In truth, I also use linux sometimes. It is more of a hobby, though...) It truly is an enjoyable user experience. I've never bought a brand new one, either- used and refurbished macs are great. And macs stay useful longer, too. (I use a mac from 1987 to write on- the "antique" user interface is so friendly and reminiscent of a more simple time, to me. :) And the thing is SPEEEDY! since the operating system is not as heavy as those of today, it's funny that a 20 year old computer can start Microsoft Word faster than one built today :D)

Haha, if I were a salesperson for any company, it would be apple.

Sorry for getting off topic. ^^; I know zilch about antivirus, of course, since I have never owned a PC. haha~

Quite a few, and barring the laptop I bought last year, mostly older ones (I love saving computers and other tech from landfills- it's insane the things people throw away )

i had that at one point. it expired and told me i had to pay to renew. so i went to the site to pay for another year, and it wouldn't let me. so i paid for 2 more years. after taking my money, it refused to start working again, and i had to download avg because i had just paid for 2 years of nothing...

Oh yea my school uses Cisco Clean Access Agent too - what I hate about it is how it blocks off Frostwire

hmmm... i don't use an antivirus, because i refuse to pay for one. i'm just careful of what i download, and i've been fine thus far.

i think i deleted an important file to my movie player last time i was cleaning shit up though, so i think i need to nuke it and start over. maybe i'll get an antivirus software then.
