Does that happen to you guys as well? I love using my creativity in a number of ways, but a lot of the time, I have a creative block unless I smoke. I was painting and smoking all day yesterday and I noticed that part of this one painting I was doing was great because I was high, and the bottom half sucked, and I was sober when I did it. It was so bad, I threw it away. And then, I smoked more, and I came up with the picture I have below (it's not finished yet). And you know what, not only do I become more creative, I also seem to be more intelligent. I give such better advice when I'm high, and I also can work out my problems a lot better. Hm. The mysteries of mary jane lol. I posted this in the art section, but nobody really responded, so tell me what you guys think of this. This is my first time using oil paints, and first time painting in about 6 years! What does weed do for you guys?
I like it! I wrote a poem stoned that I think came out really well, but I don't write that much when I'm baked...I should, though, because sometimes I do some pretty interesting things with language when I'm high. I hate writing for school though, it seems like every sentence is awkward and every word isn't the right one, but its cousin.
No it's definitely not a myth, my friend. I'm really into neuroscience and it's amazing the way the two brains interact with each other.
I know you probably won't watch this, but if you are interested this woman was a neuroscientist (I forget, but something like that) and she had a stroke, and survived. She goes into great detail about the differences between the two brains. It's a fascinating speech. She gets pretty emotional. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRgBeGyz3To&feature=related
I will watch it, but I can't right now because I've got to finish reading this paper. However, I was able to dig this up: " There are some functional asymmetries in the brain, and it is true that certain regions of both hemispheres are specialized for particular functions. Speech illustrates this, but also shows that nothing is ever so simple when it comes to the brain: in most right-handed people, speech is processed in both hemispheres, but predominantly in the left. In some left-handers, speech is processed either predominantly in the right hemisphere or on both sides. So the notion that someone is "left-brained" or "right-brained" is absolute nonsense. All complex behaviours and cognitive functions require the integrated actions of multiple brain regions in both hemispheres of the brain. All types of information are probably processed in both the left and right hemispheres (perhaps in different ways, so that the processing carried out on one side of the brain complements, rather than substitutes, that being carried out on the other)." http://scienceblogs.com/neurophilosophy/2007/10/the_left_brain_right_brain_myt.php Different personalities are not the result of which side of your brain you use more.
It's not about personality, or motor function. (Those are indeed multi hemispherical) it's about the way things really are, and the way you see them. It's about the rational world, and the artist.
The scientist who talks about this goes way more in depth than I ever will. Just watch it, you'll understand. You seem pretty smart.
i dont snowboard high often. but one time i did and i was doing 360s and such off everything. i was getting all over the place. fun times. but yeah to answer the question i think it does, when im paying attention to something lol.
Yeah I used to write a lot of poems when I smoked, but I haven't for a while. I think it all has to do with the fact that when I smoke I am completely relaxed, and I can focus more on projects I feel too busy or stressed out to do normally. Even with what I said about intelligence, I realize I'm not smoking super herb that makes me smarter, but when I'm high I put things into different perspective which makes it more interesting to me.
