Hello! Very soon I will be joining the Military, and yesterday was my last day of smoking and pretty much is the end of my adolescence. At MEPS which is the processing center for the Military I will have to take a drug test. I have smoked for the past 4 years pretty much on a daily basis with pauses here and there. I am wondering, how long will it be before I can pass this military drug test? I was thinking maybe a month, but I very well could be (and probably am) wrong. I don't have a set date to go to MEPS but I want to join the military ASAP. I am 170, 5'11'' and I drink lots of water Thanks for your help everyone!
a month is a long estimate, but by no means unreasonable for a heavy smoker. most people can pass simple urinalysis within a couple weeks of cessation, but if you smoked a particularly large quantity it may be up to a month or so. but these things are all relative and depend very much on the individual. i can't tell you how long it will take, and even the most educated in the matter can't tell you for sure. give yourself a month at least just to be safe. a friend of mine has had good luck with detox, but it costs a lot and caused him to throw up....so instead its better for you, cheaper, and more sensible to just quite now. give yourself a month minimum to get it out of the system, drink a lot of water (especially around the time of the test) and exercise a lot. dont smoke at all. you're gonna need to quit while you're in the military anyways, so its really the best idea to just quit now. no more spending large sums of money on pot, no spending money on expensive detox preparations which may or may not work....and you're virtually garaunteed to pass, so long as you have at least a month without smoking. its free, it saves you money, it will be good preparation for bigger changes to come.........its really the best way
btw, if you're finding it really hard to quit...i havent tried them and cant vouch for their effectiveness, but a LOT of people on here have been raving about spice, spice gold, red planet, 99-0 chillin and a lot of other legal herbal blends made by a company that has actually, miraculously, discovered a way to make legal herbal blends that actually get you stoned. they're expensive, but people are saying their highly effective...so....maybe something to look into. there are only a couple sites that will sell it to us citizens though and you arent likely to find it in a headshop. the manufacturer doesnt want it sold in the US, but its not illegal
Before two days ago (which is when I stopped smoking for good) I would smoke usually 3-4 bowls a day. Thanks for the alternative aswell, but as you can guess I am doing a lot of exercise and smoking anything will lessen the ability to give it my all in exercise.
