Xanax: Sniffing

Me neither, but I suspect they taste somewhat like xanax. lol I have never liked the taste of xanax.

 

chewing up xanax makes me hate myself...so so bitter.

I wasted a bar once, one of the yellow ones, because I chewed it and couldnt stand the taste so washed my mouth out lol

 

If you snort Xanax, you shouldn't be taking pills, because you haven't researched enough to know that snorting Xanax is no better then eating it. I am not going to explain why, but I will give you a hint: some pills are water soluble, some aren't, therefore, some pills will not absorb through your nasal passages, instead, they will drip down the back of your throat into your stomach, which is the exact same thing it does when you eat it.

If you snort Xanax, and you think you are feeling it "harder," trust me, it's just a placebo effect, you think you are getting more fucked up because you snorted it, but you aren't. Next time snort some sugar, that will be just as effective.

 

Better yet just swallow them, they dissolve really quickly anyway (drop one in a glass of water if you dought that) and taste like shit. Ativan has little taste and klonopin taste good, so if you want chew those up, go for it.

most of you are incorrect about insufflation. It works just fine, if not better.

 

Interesting, thanks for that link. I wasn't going under just the assumption of the water-soluble thing, but under my own personal experience. I never felt any different after snorting benzos, then I did eating them. They didn't effect me quicker, they didn't hit me harder, and it had no effect on the duration of the drug being taken (which usually when you insuffalte something, it seems that the duration is shortened by a bit.)


That whole entire "article," is based on another person's speculations, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

The "medical community" he is referring to, are vets administering benzos into dogs. Just because it is widespread in the drug abusing community, doesn't mean that it works....it just means that the general consensus by drug abusers is that if they snort something, it will "fuck them up more."

His whole argument is attacking people who say that benzos CAN'T be taken intranasally. Nobody ever said that. What people do say, is that it isn't any more effective then taking it orally, and he has no proof to back up that it is.

Also, mostly the entire article is referring to Diazepam, not Alprazolam, which is what this particular thread is about.

Still an interesting read, but none-the-less is still just another person's opinion, and shouldn't be a guideline on the effectiveness of snorting benzos.

One last thing...all of these medical IN studies involving IN use of benzos, are using a sort of nasal spray type of route, they aren't breaking a pill with a credit card and snorting the powder in lines.

 

not convinced at all homie. Of course if you were snorting pure xanax, you would get fucked up. But a 2mg xanax bar weighs like 200mg( or 0.2g), so you're snorting 198mg of useless fillers and binders that do not get you high, and most which arent soluble.

plus, the bioavailability of benzos is already so high that its not worth it. Snorting an OC80 is worth it, becaue although there may be 120mg of fillers and binders, the oral biavailability is so sorry that eating the pill would be useless for recreational purposes. Thats not the case with benzos.

 

Haha, I laughed pretty hard when I read others dreaded the taste of Xanax. They are one of the worst tasting pills I ever tried, even leaving it on your tongue for a second emits a horrid bitter taste...

And I agree with just taking them orally, I don't see why people love the act of snorting so much to try it with everything..
