me and my girlfriend have had condom-less sex twice,, i bought her the plan B (her first time using anything like that ) and she took it 2 days after....she told me that it made her feel really weird in a bad way...next month we are in the same situation exept im hesitating getting the pill for her because i love her and i dont want anything to happen to her ....should i give it to her?

    is that feeling normal?

you SHOULD be using the darned condom and thought of that the first time. i'm assuming the plan b pill isn't pleasant, anyway. and since her doctor, who knows her physical history and potential problems she might have with it isn't the one giving it to her, i have no real answer for you. USE YOUR CONDOMS. plan b isn't a convenience, it's an emergency.

Ok at Age 16, your only option should be to use condoms..Instead of paying $50 each time you get plan B, try to be more responsible by using a rubber...However, Plan B should not make her feel weird so perhaps it's not for her or something..How was she feeling exactly? She should be fine taking it again but def. don't get into the habit...BTW: how are you purchasing PlanB at age 16?

"Should we use a birth control method that makes my girlfriend 'feel weird in a bad way'"?
That depends; do you like her? Or do you feel OK about her 'feeling weird in a bad way'?

As others have noted, Plan B is for emergencies only.
    Neither does it prevent STD's.

Plan B is basically just two hormonal birth control pills, so it can give her the same side effects as the pill would if she was taking it on a regular basis.

it's definitely cheaper and makes more sense to use another type of birth control while you're actually having sex... Plan B doesn't do anything if a fertilized egg is already implanted in her uterus.

There's an age limit on Plan B? News to me....

Its her decision, not yours, OP. Be smarter.

The OP is Canadian. We dont have any limit on age to buy Plan B as far as I know. Why should you? Teenagers are sexually active. Anything they discuss with doctors are private, why should they need a parent to buy them Plan B? They talk to the pharmacist/.

Before people beat up on the OP too much, it should be noted that a 16yr old guy who is interested and active in the couple's birth control is a rare occurance. He may need educating but he should also be commended.

Condoms, the sponge, the foam, IUD, the pill, diaphram, ALL should be your choice before Plan B.

Plan B is just that, a second plan for if the FIRST fails.

agreed with all the above... plan B is for emergencies, such as the condom breaks. if you wanna have condomless sex, get on the pill.

but lots of people say plan B makes them feel nauseous, or sick. plan B is extra strength hormonal birth control pills, and it does make you nauseous to take extra hormonal pills, especially if you're not used to them.

Seriously, just use the damn condoms. Emergency contraception is not exactly good for your body, I don't even know if they would give it to her if she took it only a month ago. I had to take it about a month ago because our normal method failed, I was sick for a week afterwards. I'd be scared to do that to my body again, especially so quickly.

Keep up with your condom supply. ive took plan B once, because the condom broke, and i didnt have much problems with the pill. but that was one time, and it was an emergency. And I really dont think she can take it if she took it last month. You really need to be more responsible. your going to end up getting pregnant if your not careful.

Like two of the times that I've used Plan B it made me feel very sick. One of those times was the worst, i felt nauseous, dizzy and like I was going to faint. I dont like it at all.

The MAP should not be used as your only method of BC. You should also be using a condom all the time. Get her on BC and you wearing a condom!

birth control is very easy to obtain. just go to your local Planned Parenthood and have her sign up. Its around $30 a month and completly worth it. She does not even need a parents approval or anything.
